"I considered myself a failure", that's how much 3 dreamhacks are worth in the eye of a korean :D oh I mistranslated; 70 games per day in a week. p.s. Koreans only count GSL, SSL, OSL and Blizzcon. People do not count WCS season final or Cross-final, DH, IEM and other short-term tourneys no matter how big the prize is. We call it "second-tier tournaments." Koreans will be like "why is Taeja so high on that greatest player list" Thanks for the translation! most korean pros who talked about taeJa have massive respect for him though. I remember soO saying in an interview he hopes to face TaeJa one day because he's so good.

I never believe one second in Solar, congrats on proving me wrong!
Also damn 70 games in a day is a lot of Starcraft.

Playing 70 games everyday is some dedication.

Gotta love Solar. Last rising star of korean SC2 finally getting his gold medal. How and it appears that working really really hard can allow you to get some trophies.

Time for TL to revise their GOAT list

Congrats to Solar, so much dedication!
70 games, assuming 10 minutes per game, is 12 hrs of SC2 with no interruption, every day. Pretty sick.

Thank you for the interview, and congrats to Solar.

Byun practiced with Jim and Cyan as well. I wonder what secret weapon do Chinese players have as practice partners.

Nice interview

Possible if all you do is eat, sleep and play SC2 I guess.

70 games @ 15 minutes each would be 17.5 hours of games. Brutal...
Perhaps an exaggeration. 70 games a day would be basically just pure game grinding, which is probably a pretty poor way of practicing.
Solar did deserve it though. Even though I sort of consider Dark the better player, Solar has had it coming for a while. (:

not sure why you would assume the average zvz game lasts that long :D in this final the average duration was 8 minutes and 7 seconds with only one early pool. if you take the time between games / to set up a lobby for costum games into consideration you might end up with a little bit more than those 8 minutes, but i guess that depends on which exact builds you practice
|
So then maybe 7 games per hour for 10 hours of play is a better estimate.
|
I'm so happy for Solar. A well-deserved win!

I never believed in Solar and thought he's just riding his 2015 online-cup hype train. I betted against him again and again. He proved me wrong again and again. Congatulations to him
