 SpeeD played well in Code A in the Round of 32. I kinda want him to advance even further because it's exciting to watch a newcomer like him playing on the level of veterans.

Well firstly, that's not true. He was a top tier player when HotS launched, and in each late 2014 and 2015 he lifted himself above mediocrity. And secondly, his name appearing in the Ro16 alone was generally enough to make it more interesting - whether you wished to see him fail or finally break his Ro16 limit.
Sometimes, the name adds just as much as the quality of play.

It's not realistic to apply the standards for his BW career to his SC2 career. And if you did his SC2 career is a lot worse than mediocre.
At any rate him being there for Ro16 groups always added something special to them.
