Damn, I didn't expect that, Acer seemed to be a very strong team overall with a lot of players.

E-sports is like American soccer. I've been hearing about an imminent breakthrough since the US World Cup in early 90s. It has yet to happen. I believe MLS is still losing money. Hasn't stopped rich people from throwing money at it.

Unfortunate but not unexpected. Hopefully Scarlett and Bly find new teams soon. Best of luck to both.

Bye Acer, thanks for supporting SC2 over the years.
They did have teams in multiple games, but SC2 was their main game as far as I can tell. SC2 players earned 91% of their overall prize money earnings according to this site. So it's quite possible this does have something to do with the current state of SC2.

LIQUID SCARLET!!! <3 <3 Thank you so much acer for the amazing games, tournaments and people; will have many fond memories! Best of luck to everyone involved!

5 years was a good run. For a team. And for the game as a whole. Acer MMA Acer Scarlett never forget (SCREW YOU INNOVATION DENYING SOO HIS RIGHTFUL PLACE AS GSL CHAMPION - now that game is daed soo will never get gold)

I'll really miss Acer and MMA. They gave him new life after the SlayerS debacle. GG

Sad to see more and more teams leaving. Sc2 scene was already small compared to other games and is getting smaller every month...
|
Oh sad and surprising T_T
|
goodbye acer, you gave us an awesome time! Sad to see you go though. Should have bought the more expensive smartphone i guess !
|
Good bye Team Acer, thank you for all the years put in the team. Don't know about the logistics of why the team is being closed but i'm sure it was well thought out before coming to this.

Acer was one of the coolest SC2 teams ever. Thanks for being a pillar of the community for so long, and I wish you all the best in whatever you do next.
|
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not another one

It's such a weird combination.
Pretty much the cheapest and the worst PC brand, but its esports team is pretty damn solid with some of the best players around.
Thank goodness, coz acer sucks really, but that's too bad for the players. I hope they find great homes soon.
|
I'm so sad! I know with the direction their roster was going that this was expected. Still, now that it's actually done I'm floored.
|
Lots of great moments by this team and it's players. It left a big mark in sc2. Thanks for the memories, Team Acer.

Hasn't stopped rich people from throwing money at it. just to add to ur point... American soccer has been "breaking through" since 1975. Pele attracted a lot of sellouts and the #1 European football video game was NASL Soccer.... 40+ years and lots of rich people who love european football keep throwing money down the drain.
