Yes I'm sure all the up and coming new Korean players would have flown out to IEMs and the like, placed in the top 4 so they are able to earn the same amount they will get from Code A next year. It doesn't really matter if you don't like the WCS changes, it's just lazy to blame everything on them. This problem would still exist without WCS and the new system looks like it offers better incentives to upcoming players in Korea.

I hope you're taking notice. The new WCS system is absolutely awful and I wouldn't be surprised if this wave of retirements continues into the new year.

Guess he'll just go back to where he's always belonged, streaming bw, participating in the ssl etc.. Seems like the majority of them ends up going back. Shame for sc2 though, but I can't help but feel like it's almost inevitable..
Makes you think about what Blizzard needs to do/create to keep the playerbase as big as possible.
