This is very sad to me but expected, and i think a smart choice to retire now.
MMA was the main reason i started loving starcraft, his inspiring play at the finals with Losira at MLG made me realise how awesome starcraft could be, since that day MMA was like my idol and i've never followed someone as much as i did with him, i must have watched more that 90% of his streamed played games for sure.
Guess i started playing with him and will stop playing with him as well.
Thank u friend for all this years with me i'll miss you.

Just curious... has any pro-gamer after retiring ever said anything along these lines:
"Pro-gaming sucks, I shouldn't have wasted so many years of my life on this bullshit" ?
|
Thanks for all the great memories MMA. A true Terran Champion!

We'll miss you MMA ! take care !

Usually the ones who are not very successful - in that case, their retirement usually comes with little fanfare and notice.
The ones whose retirements we notice are the successful ones usually, and they have the tournament titles, $$$ and fans.

even the one who wheren´t to successful are more like "yeah maybe i should quit faster but it was fun" i remember darkforce for example said something like that after his retirement (i´m not 100% sure that he was the one). but i think that nobody who has no fun in playing would be a progamer for a longer time, so even if it is a "mistake" in the economic way most players don´t judge there career by that aspect.

Korean military service is so bothersome...
Can't get attached to any korean players because the military will make almost all of them retire after a few years or less.

Oh that bolded part is so true! That MLG was the most fun I've ever had watching any tournament and that incredible final vs Losira showed how amazing the game could be. One of the biggest highlights for me since I started watching Starcraft in March 2011

Lots of talk about the military stuff, but does he even have to go? He was dispatched because of an injury when he went to the army for the first time. Is it mandatory to complete the service even if you were formerly dispatched?

Goodbye MMA...an amazing SC2 player. Great games to watch...

It's not a waste of time if you're like Flash I guess. You earn a lot of money before you're 18, then you retire when you're 23-24 years old (slightly earlier could have been ideal if I were Flash) and go for a university degree. For anyone else, it's probably a waste if time unless they want to get some degree which won't help earn much money.

What a perfect end of the story 1st and till now only Player to win a premier tournament in all 3 parts of Starcraft2.
|
Retirement but win a premier, maybe he will stay?

@Fryryx how could he? i thougt he is doing his millitary service now, and i don´t think they are supportive for him as they where when boxer had to do his service :D
