Where is Wolf and Valdes? Instead they bring people that are barely involved in the scene nowadays... when Wolf and Valdes have made such a huge contribution to sc2, this sure is so unfair. I'm very disappointed and sad T.T At least Moonglade will be there...

Guess I will be watching some korean streams this year.

Blizzard simply showing they care more about corporate greed (i.e., who is generally perceived as a more marketable caster to a wide audience) than the Starcraft family of casters who have kept broadcast StarCraft going week in and week out for the past several years.

LOL. I've seen some things in this thread, but this takes the cake.

Amazing isn't it? The constant complaining about everything from some people. It's a bit depressing but also interesting really..

You're complaining about complaining. #newmeta?

I'm calling it a bit depressing but also, and more importantly, amazing and interesting. How is that complaining exactly?
I Protoss winner, could it be?

One of the best ways to do that is to remind them of all the good things they remember about the game at its height, Day9 and Tastosis both create that Nostalgic feeling.

That is why they have also seeded Nony and QXC into the blizzcon finals.

i'd rather see someone who is constantly casting competitive SC2 events rather than Day9. Kim Phan is the eSports decision maker at Blizz and it'll be interesting to see her "new role" after Bornstein and Sepso create the ATVI esports division.

i think Blizzard makes amazing games and does a mediocre-at-best job of organizing and running esports live events. It'll be good if Sepso just takes over the entire operation.

I don't understand all the Day 9 hate. He contributed so much to the scene. He's the reason I got into sc2 and so many others. He was doing a daily every day for years. But people gotta wake up and smell the coffee. Sc2 has 5k viewers on twitch where you need 10k to be on the front page and cs is at 500k. It's only logical for any human to want to make some money at some point and try other e-sports. This is good for sc2. His name will attract new viewers and bring his huge fan base. For the last 2 tournaments he casted, he was decent. I'm sure he'll do his homework.

Everyone there is fantastic but Maynarde is a particularly excellent choice given his range thus bringing excitement to almost every game.

labelling people's preferences as "hate" will start a holy war, i don't recommend doing that.
otherwise, good point. i changed my mind. day9 has earned his spot. also, day9 is working on an RTS game for another company so he can provide a perspective no one else can while still having a strong Blizzard-RTS knowledge base.

that doesn't change my previous over-all comment though: Blizzard is mediocre at running and organizing leagues and live events. It'll be good if they stick to game making and this new ATVI division handles the esports end of Blizzard's games.

Good point. I guess one reason is that the Korean/Asian casters are not capable of English to the extent needed for casting at BlizzCon.
But if BlizzCon is shown in Korea they will cast in Korean for sure, I guess
So for every audience there are appropriate casters (in terms of cultural identity and language).

I don't know about QXC but I've only ever been to blizzcon as a regular attendee, not seeded or participating in anything. I think you've got me mixed up with someone else?
