The massively extensive patch notes for the coming Patch 3.0 are now available in the Starcraft 2/Battle.net launcher. They are also available to view on imgur.
Some major parts of the patch include:
- Whispers of Oblivion now available to all players
- New, completely revamped user interface
- 64-bit version of SC2 now an option
- Chat system upgrades
- Archon Mode becoming available in HotS and WoL
- Purchase of campaigns in game
- Many changes to the SC2 editor
- Removal of FFA matchmaking
- The addition of the new "alt+number" control group option

I hope the new chat system is an improvement  Didn't like the old one so far...

FFA is still available in custom games, FFA Matchmaking has been removed.

Too bad FFA is removed and i agree if no one plays, might as well get rid of it.
I wonder how come no one plays FFA BGH $$$ maps no more or is it bc everyone gone to playing mono battles??
In WC3, i love FFA. SC2, not as much. Probably too focus on 1v1.
Also, if Whisper of Oblivion is available for all players, won't those who pre-ordered LOTV early to play that will be upset?

I wonder what changes 64 bit will bring.
Did anyone play FFA on SC2? Anything outside of 1v1 felt so weird to me.

Huh... to be honest if you asked me before today I wouldnt have even known there was an FFA mode...

I played FFA a few times. It isn't too bad. But with time constraint, i spend all my time on 1v1 (or some 4v4 just for fun).

Why no FFA anymore? I didn't play it much but I wonder why it would be worth it for them to remove it.

It took too long to find a game because barely anyone played it.
