Red Bull has announced through video the details of their upcoming LotV Archon Mode Battle Ground tournament.

Qualifiers:
-WCS Toronto (June 26-28), 1 team directly to Grand Finals
-Online (July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7), to Studio Playoffs

Studio Playoffs (August 21-23), 2 teams to Grand Finals

Grand Finals in Washington DC (September 19), Bomber being last season's champion has been invited (presumably with a partner of his choice), plus the 3 teams from qualifiers and playoffs.

This is gonna be fun, but compared to last season's red bull circuit a 4 "player" archon mode tourney isn't gonna come close. Less epic finals with fewer and smaller tournaments leading into it. Glad they're trying something new, just sad that it's on such a small scale

This is awesome thanks BattleGrounds!... But...Archon Mode only tournament? I am really not happy or satisfied with this at all. StarCraft ha always been a 1vs1 mode game in big events, although this is essentially a 1vs1 with 4 players, I still am upset with this move.

The game is in beta still and probably no where near balanced because we haven't seen many top koreans play it. I'd strongly prefer a HotS tournament over this. Archon mode tournament should be a side show to a real tournament.

It is - The real tournament is their Dota 2 Battlegrounds series. Not enough budget for both, I guess.
