I should add the "selling out" talk on twitter somewhere around here but my proxy is cheating on me.
Almost as if a 13-year ESPORTS veteran and (ex-)editor-in-chief of the ultimate authority on Starcraft II who also happens to speak Korean and have more "inside knowledge" than most might make a good addition to a panel
I wonder what Wax will do exactly as an expert. Match predictions, background info, and pre-match analysis maybe? Seems like the role overlaps with caster a lot.
How on earth does this even happen. Dreamhack is having a meeting deciding who to present sc2 to audiance. Thinking options hmm who knows a lot abouot the game. And someone comes up with wax fucking angel.

And you mean to say Wax doesn't?
I mean yeah they could have gone worse. Worse has bren used. But how is wax more than any other random guy who has followed sc for a while? Atleast i would have never had the idea to invite him. Just seems so surreal.

He actually is not a random guy? The fact you don't know him doesn't mean you're right when you think he doesn't know SC.

He's not the first expert DH has used. An Expert in this context is essentially a permanent member of the panel that Richard runs.

Starcraft II was Wax's full-time job for 2+ years (I don't know exactly how long his tenure as full-time EiC was). If there is anyone you were to hire that isn't already an "established" personality or a player, I think Wax is at the top of the food chain. If not else, then because he could out-trivia anyone else on the desk through sheer volume of work over time.
So many salty people in here - Wax was the motherfucking editor in chief of Teamliquid's SC2 content for years, he has been around since the very beginning.
Those saying he is not an expert are morons. He is also extremely funny (at least in text) both here, on twitter and on Skype.

It's really annoying... I personally welcome the new faces.....
The last I heard Dreamhack was dropping SC2 so it shows how much I pay attention to what's going on. Cool lineup of casters and stuff, I've always had a soft spot for Apollo and ToD after he started casting WCS Europe (which I haven't watched in like a year, but still) so they should put on an awesome show.
Waxangel though, oh my god. I hope you keep your posting style as to how you'll speak on stream, that'd make things about 100x more interesting.

As far as I understood it they were never going to drop SC2. It was just a shift of attention, SC2 is no longer the main game and attraction, CS:GO is.

Ah fair enough. When I heard about it it was just rumours.

No one's dropping SC2, I think SC2 wont be at every Dreamhack event though.
