That's pretty surprising for me! herO has been Top 10 P, cracking near top 5 P (or possibly in Top 5 P) for the latter half of 2012 (WoL). He fell off adjusting to HotS for all of 2013. Got 3 IEMS, runner up at IEM WC, Top 2 Kespa Cup, Top 4 Stockholm, Top 4 Code S. He doesn't have the innovation of Stephano, but his refinement criteria is as good or better. In terms of years it's about the same as Stephano in more recent years. I'd have to measure everything else he did, but I wouldn't dismiss those 6 out of hand for Stephano as 20th.

quality of achievements > quantity of achievements Taeja not on a top 15 list is ridiculous though, but top 5 is arguable imo

So, Parting, MC, Mvp, Taeja and Life must be the other players on the list. I can't imagine anything else. Or is Parting replaced with Soulkey? That would be horrendous. Sad to see so many legendary players left out of this list. Could someone refresh my memory on what is meant by that Stephano's builds were nerfed to the ground, by the way? EDIT: oh wait, Parting didn't make the list.. Soulkey neither. This is what the list ought to be like then: 5. Stephano 4. Taeja 3. MC 2. Life 1. Mvp please

I expect MVP, Life and Parting in top 5. I always feel Parting doesn't get enough credit. He has been one of most consistent player in GSL, even more than MC.

Spots 1 and 2 are clearly locked up by Life and Mvp. No argument whatsoever. For spots 5-3 I'd say only MC, PartinG, MMA, and maybe Polt are competitive with Taeja. - MC has the advantage of winning 2/3 gsl finals he's been in (something Taeja never did). He has a staggering wiki page and slightly better longevity than Taeja. Difference is, Taeja has tons of gold and MC has a truckload of silver. Not only that, Taeja has far better longevity as a top-tier player, MC has never been among top 5 Protoss post-HotS. Although, to MC's credit he's had far bigger impact on his race and he's proven to clearly be more successful in a preparation-based format. Taeja didn't really do well in WCS AM despite the weaker competition. I'd rank Taeja ahead of him, but he has the best chance of overtaking Taeja imo. - PartinG has the edge in consistency (especially since he's mostly been in Korea) and innovation, but Taeja hit higher peaks and simply won more shit. Taeja has had more adversity to overcome in terms of balance and his wrists as well. - MMA has a truckload of premiere championships, has proven to be much better in terms of preparation, and actually has Korean/WCS wins. Yet, he also has that 9-12 month period of being almost totally irrelevant. Taeja has no such period and has comparable longevity. Not to mention, some of Taeja's peaks were in Terran's darkest hour. - Polt blows Taeja out of the water in WCS AM, but I think he only has a slight edge in Korea. He's a gsl champ and had numerous code S appearances but only one ro8+ finish besides the gsl win. Not to mention, most of those were in 2011 when Terran was op. Taeja oddly did his best in the gsl during the BL/infestor era and generally faced tougher competition even outside of balance. Taeja really holds the advantage in foreign events though. Even with his disappointing WCS AM appearances he still won or placed highly at far more tournaments abroad than Polt did. All in all I think Taeja firmly holds #3.
