Solid invites. All three must be considered contenders for the championship - especially herO, since it's an IEM.

Would be nice to seem some slightly less well known players getting invites, but I guess that wouldn't make sense for IEM. May as well give the invites to the big names.

invites are apparently there to "fix" the qualifiers results so not very surprising. still disappointing tho.

They are fixing it wrong. The 3 Koreans who should have received invites:
Dark, Dream, and Guilty.

yeah i'd love to see up and coming players or even stars that don't go too much to foreigner tournaments (if they'd accept) but it makes more sense to them to invite known players and the IEM lord.

I'd say PartinG is still more popular than herO tbh, at least for the french viewers in general and it wouldn't surprised me if it was true almost everywhere.

They're all going to bring in viewers and it's a perfectly understandable thing for IEM to do. For people like me who watch every single tournament though it gets a bit stale seeing the same core of people invited to every tournament.

But hey, there's always the Open Bracket.

Probably one of these IEM where the Open Bracket is actually more stacked than the actual tournament anyway :D

There's always four. This is how IEM has worked for several seasons. 2 qualifiers from NA, 2 from EU, 2 from Asia, 1 from the host region (in this case, Asia), 1 from the host nation (in this case, Taiwan), 4 invited wildcards, 4 from the Open Bracket. If the fourth invitee isn't listed, they're either not yet announced by the ESL, or they may be foreign (there was one foreign wildcard in San Jose).

so is now a good time to start rumors about it being naniwa? :D

Sure, even though they wouldn't touch Naniwa with a 10 foot poll

they don't have to touch him as long as he has soundproofing

it's naniwa, he'll find out how the other guy is cheating no matter what.

I dunno, I could see why a pro player would be somewhat paranoid over whether someone was cheating or not. There is nothing more annoying than losing to some shithead cheater. Though, admittedly, it'd probably be quite satisfying being a shithead cheater too. Still, so long as it isn't too crazy (and I wouldn't say his IEM incident or his most recent Happy Russian stream incident were) then I'm fine with his accusations/paranoia.

What's the Happy stream incident?

After some suspicious decisions by Happy in G2 of his series against NaNiwa during WCS EU qualifiers (without looking at the replay and analyzing why Happy did what he did), NaNiwa called Happy out for ghosting because he had been informed that the Russian stream was only on 10 seconds delay, when all streams are supposed to have like 2-5 minutes or something. Therefore in G3 there was no Russian stream. People were just accusing NaNiwa of being a sore losing prick though because they didn't know the Russian stream didn't have the proper delay

Oh wow! I didn't hear about this! Thanks for the reply btw.

p.s. Guilty next bonjwa

NaNiwa would be cool.

Things will be announced once the final TW qualifier is finished tomorrow.
