W3 had 4 races. It wasn't really balanced but still was a great success. I think the more problematic side of a fourth race would be the lore. I mean, what do you do? A new sort of aliens suddenly appears? Because Hybrids would be kinda bland and repetitive in terms of race personality

also, how is "a new sort of aliens suddenly appears" less likely or realistic than "humans suddenly appear in the koprulu sector"
