The Island's design was inspired by the map Korhal Floating Island,a Proleague map used in the 2012-2013 season. Neat. Construction started in 2009. All 3 islands launched in 2010. Gavit/Vista has the performance hall. It will be cool to see the games show up on the outdoor LED screen that is the Media Art Gallery. Wait, they might have it outdoors and the big LED screen as the main display? | ||

Floating Island... so it is new? And influenced by KORHAL?! WHAT?! Wait I'm sorta confused, the place in the red circle in the first picture seems to have barely any land. But then the Kespa twitter picture shows it has a massive area in front of the screen? I hope there will be enough people to make it feel awesome and magical like in the older days, even the size of GSL Final's better turnouts would be fine! I would be a bit surprised actually if it wasn't larger, as Proleague has been getting pretty nice audience sizes during regular matches (which have been growing and much larger than GSL's and even re-attracting old demographics like females!) | ||

The floating island is just next to the Banpo Bridge which is a multi-leveled bridge that "hosts" the world's biggest and longest rainbow fountain, the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain If anyone's around for the SPL finals be sure to check this out as well, there's youngsters playing music, ordering chicken from nearby hofs, drinking beer, having fun, it's a great place to spend a night on a summer evening. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/5mpcJa0.jpg) | ||
