I hope they thought this far ahead while hammering out the details because if this "global" tournament only has korean participation (no matter how fair and square the qualification process was) then the viewership will decrease drastically and they might as well not have put in so much effort.

I expect 7/8 to be Korean though.

btw is this before or after the wcs finals? if it's before then the players have to use their strats for their wcs final and if after the wcs championship doesn't last like season finals?

I bet they are willing to do things like direct seeds, similar to the past (HuK, Naniwa, Stephano).

Players - Two Top Players of 2014 GSL Season 1 - Two Top Players of 2014 WCS AM Season 1 - Two Top Players of 2014 WCS EU Season 1 - Ten players from Global Qualifier (will begin on April 7th. more details to be announced) That makes 16 then, no?

also, the winners of the global qualifiers will have 3 days to make travel arrangements (tickets, visa, etc.) and to actually travel to korea (provided they don't live there)... EDIT: sorry didn't see that: On March 22 2014 20:54 MasterOfPuppets wrote: That makes 16 then, no? actually makes sense. 6 out of 16 get a BYE

Don't get me wrong, I'm usually for region locking (I think the region locking changes made to WCS this year were good, they possibly could have done even more region locking) I just don't think they should do it at the very very top levels of competition.
