This is a quick second-hand and shortened translation. As always, it is important to note about the things that lost during the two translation processes.
This is the interview after Flash winning his game against Rain and his 7 anniversary match.
Q: A lot of fans have come to the studio today.
Flash: It really gives me huge strength. Since this new SPL, I have found much of the feeling like before. I used to have a happy communication with my fans, but suddenly fans have become fewer, which makes me feel regretful. But recently the number of fans has increased, which gives me huge strength.
Q: I heard that you never lose in TvP during practice.
Flash: This time I practiced for about 70 games, with 2 losses. So I have confidence. My winrate is high so I think I have performed well in today's game. Rain's reaction is outstanding so it was difficult. I dropped in his natural and lost many units but thankfully I have killed lots of workers as well. And then I was gradually gaining advantage.
Q: Last words?
Flash: Lots of fans came today for my 7 anniversary. Thank you everyone. I hope everyone can come to cheer for me in the future. After eating the mountain ginseng, I will certainly cheer up.

Some data on the SC2's recent popularity in Korea.
1.
For some unknown reasons, SC2's popularity in Korea has indeed been good after the new SPL,at least compared to the last SPL during OGN's production, which is strange considering the higher status of OGN. The online game played time ranking on inven shows that SC2 has been around #15 for many months and it was not that high during Wings and not that high before this new SPL as well. But of course shortly after the HOTS release the ranking was higher----I remember that it was around #11, for a few months.
The ranking data since last Oct:
Oct: http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=64666&site=webzine
Nov: http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=65850&site=webzine
Dec: http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=67239&site=webzine
Jan: http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=102771&sclass=26
Feb: http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=103953
March: http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=106259
2.
Also, the new SPL's VOD viewership in Korea is relatively better than before as well. The VOD of some of the best players achieved a viewership of 20k to 40k. And Fantasy vs Roro in Round 2 has a ridiculous viewer number of 159k, which is even higher than most of the LoL VODs on Naver's VOD system.

68/70 is a stupidly high win rate, even for practice. I wonder if those were ladder or customs.

If that was vs Zest as well, that win rate is pretty good. But if it is just KT protoss' who aren't named Zest then it isn't that much of a feat xD
Still...theirs hope for Flash fans :D

I want to assume customs, because otherwise that would be a ridic amount of ladder games. But then again, I don't know over how many days this was. Regardless, that's truly an incredibly winrate

To be honest this current season of Proleague has been awesome. I've never watched SPL before. Not surprised that the numbers are up.

Same here, didn't watch it alot before. I think the former eSF teams and former players now playing in Kespa teams does help proleague a lot. Both in acquiring more fans/viewers, but also in increasing quality by a lot.

Whoah that's so much ginseng. :o

Great news. I hope the offline crowd lasts more than just for his 7th anniversary, though. Regardless, it definitely has picked up since OGN PL.
|
Did he get all that ginseng from a fan?

I think the slight resurgence in popularity makes sense. Remember it wasn't just OGN, it was half OGN half IEG/SpoTV in that crappy studio. Also I'm sure OGN put little effort into promotion, unlike what is happening now. Lastly, having it in the OGN studio starkly put comparisons to BW in people's minds and created negativity. But with a fresh studio and new teams it feels like more of a fresh start and a separate thing that can stand on it's own.
|
Damn those practice stats. Considering how good Zest is, it makes it even more impressive.

Can't be ladder if he practiced the map. I think you're right. 68/70 in customs is insane, though. I still think Flash is underrated by virtue of being seen less often in 1v1 tournaments in SCII (as compared to Jaedong, Taeja, etc).
