GSL is not Korean-only (that no non-Korean feels it's worth it to go over there and qualify is a separate matter entirely), and the Korean scene would benefit from literally any extra tournament they can get.

Wait, North America can have region locked tournaments. Why not Korea? Gotta help that scene too...
They have, ever heard of the GSL or Proleague? :D
GSL is not region locked per se, it's just that the structure of the tournament severly hampers foreign participation + most of them would be eaten alive in Code A.
I am sure that this is not gonna be an OSL. He announced that on spotv with the spotv caster. It's definately going to be a new spotv tournament. I really doubt that ogn will hold a sc2 event this year either. ( they have none of shows regarding starcraft, and the casters are moved on for other games, such as LOL or Hearthstone.)

Meh, there will always be a new and greater tournament.
It's pretty clear Ongamenet is dedicated to League of Legends. Maybe they'll run a BW or SC2 tournament every once in a long while, but League is far more important to them.
I'm sure what could make it better is to make it like a week long and the tournament would be every other day so people can relax and/or practice for their opponents so it'd be better games. After all, I would be surprised if the foreigners didn't take the chance to ladder in Korea and get placed in plat.
All joking aside, 128 players and BO5s would be awesome. It'd be an awesome experience for any pro gamer
I hope some foreigners attend to this event, not only the AM/EU koreans. NaNiwa, Scarlett, VortiX, TLO, Snute, elfi, Grubby, Nerchio, Welmu, Happy. And of course, Sen, Jim, MacSed...

For all the fear of Kespa pre-transition to SC2 they've by and large only done good for the scene and produce great content across LoL and SC2.
That's never been a problem. They've always produced good content, derp.

Why would they need a region lock?? I don't think they are afraid of any NA players winning money over the Koreans (= But would be cool to see few NA players check this tourney out.
