"Starcraft 2 gamers around the world gather in Seoul"
Taken from this article, the KeSPA chairman has announced that there are plans for an international SC2 tournament in Seoul, which will be a part of the WCS tier system (it will award WCS points).
Details are very vague right now regarding the date or scale of the tournament. The only sure thing is that KeSPA wants it to be in Seoul.

korea vs the world?:D
anyway sounds really good and looking forward to hear the details of the article
|
I think he wants Jaedong and other top koreans to play in korea.
|
I'd love to see a huge tournament with no groups, Super Tournament style Bo3 until the quarter finals, 128 competitors or something similar.
For all the fear of Kespa pre-transition to SC2 they've by and large only done good for the scene and produce great content across LoL and SC2.

Gonna need a little more info than that. Hopefully someone can translate the general idea of the article

He said he wants to start a new tournament that will be held in Seoul, and his team is working hard on coming up with ideas about how this can be done. It states that this won't be the world championship, but rather a tournament that can give points toward to WCS where foreign players can participate over 3-4 day period.
I get the feeling that he wants more opportunities for KR players who doesn't participate in foreign tourneys regularly. Not sure how many foreigners are willing to participate though..

Depends on the conditions. If they offer the same conditions GOM offered in their world championship, I imagine it to be hard to decline for any player who is curious about Korea.

A big international tournament in Seoul sure would be nice. Unlike the usual where the korean are seen as the conqueror it would be the foreigners ahah.

Would be really nice to see, i think the Kespa president did read the article about JD and Flash :D

It would be cool to see tournaments with all the koreans more than once a year!! It would be awesome to have another tourney in Korea than WCS!!
|
Nobody can say no to more tournaments in Korea
|
is there even enough audience in korea for this to be worth it?

It's not gonna be an OSL. It's a 3-4 day tournament (foreigner style). It would be OSL in name only. Also, how could you want what was the greatest tournament to become just another WCS feeder?
