Go Snute! Seeing an Irish player make it is also incredibly cool.

You do recall YoDa won the IEM World Championship in 2013 (beating Mvp and PartinG among others) and First went to the semifinals of the WCS Season 2 Global Finals? They're maybe not top 10 in the world at their race but they're both very strong.

For those curious how the Koreans did:

YoDa beat an Italian player named Nogard in the RO128 but was knocked out by DIMAGA in the RO64.

Dragon had a bye in the RO128 and was knocked out by Bischu in the RO64

Patience beat a Bulgarian player named btmn in the RO128 and was knocked out by MaNa in the RO64

First had a bye in the RO128, beat a Polish player named pabe in the RO64 and was knocked out by DieStar in the RO32.

TAiLS had a bye in the RO128, beat White in the RO64 and was knocked out by Socke in the RO32.

So yeah, not only did not a single Korean qualify but none of them made it further than the RO32, and all of them were eliminated by foreigners. Weird.

playing on eu, it was expected ^^ it wasnt the SUPERCLASS koreans and this high tier guys are all not as good that the lag can be overthrown by them.
only yoda is good enough for it but he had dimaga as enemy, who is a zvt beast

POOOOR SOCKE !
is it right that he lost every 4 tournaments 1-2 in the quaters or semis ?

Cross server lag (and probably horrible local time) OP. That's what I'm telling myself, anyways

Instead of wasting their time and opportunity they could go to qualify either NA or KR. I am sure it wasn't the first time when they played on EU therefore they knew exactly how/if lag could affect the game.

well they had to win 200 games in 9 days to make this qualifier, so they knew how bad it is ^^

First was defeated by Diestar? Wow...

First is not a B team korean. B team koreans do not do things like get to Global Finals, defeat Polt twice and also beat aLive. They most certainly do not make Fantasy look like a silly idiot with their plays. They also do not tend to appear on TL power ranks.

I really wanted First to make it in. I guess that is what he gets for trying for EU though.

Glad Snute made it in though. GL to him!

All of the top Koreans trying to qualify except for YoDa were Protoss too (First, Patience, TAiLS) so somehow I doubt it. And YoDa did not lose to a Protoss.

Lol never fails for someone to bring in the protoss excuse. Looking at who qualified so far, I'd say Protoss so far has been represented the least. 1 out of the 6 in the ladder wildcard. So nice try.

And everyone just hating on the Koreans who got knocked out just because they are Koreans is pretty shallow. They are players trying to make a living just like everybody else.

But anyways, good luck to the qualifiers hope they do well in challenger, and hope the Koreans stick around who didn't make it and have some better luck next time!

I'm not being intentionally hateful or anything, I just assume that since First and Yoda are overall better players than the Europeans, it is possible that their opponents decided to beat them with cheese and not macro play. Adding that the Koreans played from KR, cheesing could very well have a stronger shot against them.

And in my opinion Protoss has always had the best cheese/all-ins and in at least pvt the current maps favor blink plays a lot.

I think you haven't met the Anti-Foreigner people yet. And GJ Snute! Just feels right having him compete in the WCS EU
