It involved Crank getting almost a walkover vs ST_Legend. Some controversy because it looked like Legend didn't practice or take it seriously by those who play/follow Starbow. Also, Crank's build looked scary as hell. TLDR: you didn't miss anything, the good stuff is starting tomorrow ![]()

It turned out that Banelings always deal 40 damage to all units, except the unit it attacks. So if a Baneling attacks a clump of Firebats, it deals the intended 18 dmg vs one Firebat and 40 dmg to the others... Bug fixes: + Show Spoiler + - Baneling now deals proper damage vs everything, which is 18 vs all, x2 vs light, x2.5 vs structure and x2 vs shield. In the coming balance patches after the tournament, the Baneling will probably go through some kind of rework, either in design or just in stats.

This will make large amounts of firebats in bio a strong choice again - I was sure something was wrong haha

Does this mean that if it attacks a light unit that has a shield it does x4 damage? What about if the shield is already drained from other attacks? Does x2 to shield only do damage to shield or is it a unit classification where all units that can have shields will receive x2 damage (basically all protoss units)?

Hm, that's actually an interesting question. Pretty sure it only does the double damage against shields and does not gain extra vs light too (if it is implemented as intented of course). And example how I think it works (or at least is intented to): unit with 2shields left, the baneling hits: 2damage (from a maximum of +36vs shields) for the shields used and +17damage on HP --> total of 19damage. if it is a light unit, it should be: 2damage (from a maximum of +36vs shields) for the shields used and +34damage on HP --> total of 36damage At least that is how widow mines work with their +vs shields: extra vs shields gets applied first for as much as possible, then the rest of the damage gets applied.

EU Heusa > Dragonei, who was the 2nd backup, so he definitely has to be an underdog here Heusa vs Franscar could be close, but I think Franscar plays protoss in that matchup and he has lost both of the games they played against each other. So I think Heusa will take it. NA RSVP beats Nasd. I think RSVP is the better player and he is 2-1 in the games they played against each other. But NASD has played well enough on the ladder for this not be so onesided as RSVP vs QXC. So I expect a relatively close long macro game. Theredbanddit vs RSVP is also gonna be close. RSVP has previously been fond of Sentinel openers (instead of Corsairs in the matchup), but he may opt for a Zealots legspeed opening instead as they deal better w/ Hydra timings. Historically, TheredBanddit beats RSVP, and I think this very well could occur again in a 2-1 victory to TheredBanddit. Finals I think overall NA has higher quality than EU; and TheredBanddit has played alot more Starbow than Heusa. Thus, I expect him to understand the matchup better and I predict a 2-0 ZvZ win for him.
