I write a good sized post about how this type of thinking is really really dumb and someone does it the very next post... Truly mind blown. MLG doesn't owe anyone anything. Hate to break it to ya

i'm european like boxerfred and while i watch our own scene for several reasons (ppl you see at lans/play on the ladder/cup and co) i don't give a shit about an NA only tournament. If it works, good for you, if it doesn't it's a bit sad but I clearly wont watch subpar play, most of the time totally unoriginal for the sake of supporting a scene 5000km away lol.

I agree with this guy.
I really hope it works out for the NA scene , they could use something like this , and I honestly hope destiny gets fired....still don't like the guy ever since the last witch hunt.

Welcome back <3 MLG in the northeast U.S. gogogo!

I really hope that its gonna be "Country of Origin" only. Just cause you live here doesn't make you from here. I love Polt and Violet just as much as my hometown heroes but that doesn't mean they should be competing in an "America's Only" tournament.

I hope they let some koreans participate.

Lol, "dare"...
SC2 has to earn its place in organization sponsorship and tournaments. Not the other way around. MLG, IEM, Dreamhack, GomTV are all businesses looking to make money and not go bankrupt. If it does not make sense to run a tournament, and they have no outstanding obligations, then it is entirely their prerogative to not run the tournament.
SC2 hadn't "done" anything for MLG. They ran tournaments for a popular game. That's it. They gave the show, people tuned in for it. Quid pro quo. If you want there to be future tournaments, then it's your job, and the rest of the community's, to show that SC2 will continue to be a mutually beneficial endeavor.

Is Axslav coming back too?

Only American Online Competition Oo ...
Dont they check what they want to post? Is there no "is this wrong" or "does it sound even retarded too" thingy at MLG ?

Hm, most likely not tuning in to a NA only event, but that is fine I guess since I'm not in the target group in the first place.

One of my favourite tournaments is back, this is so great. keep it up MLG and don`t you dare go away again!

Or are you going to tell people why a tournament that is being formed which will allow more North American players to compete is a bad thing?
