Is it losing to inferior players? Most people do, and Bomber doesn't do it much more frequently than anyone else. Is it high variance in level of play? Yeah, a lot of players have that, and most of said players don't have Bomber's results. To me, Bomber's Law is defined as a very talented player specifically Bomber can lose in a disappointing manner. Granted, there are a lot of players who will have a bad day and lose it all (like Jaedong). However, Bomber may have won two championships, but, as a Bomber fan, I know that he can do better. To me, he's very a smart guy, unlike mechanical players such as Innovation, with sharp mechanics. I don't mind if people can beat him out right (like when he lost against Scarlett on very close matches). However, we see more unforced errors from him, even when he recently accidentally moved his tanks to the locust swarm against the same person. For a person like him, I believe that he can do better and perhaps deserves better than how he presents himself. Perhaps, he's special because, for a guy who is getting older, he can pull off very impressive feats. Regardless, the fact of the matter is that Bomber tends to lose in a saddening manner, and I continue to believe, given his history, would continue to happen, regardless of how much the fans despise it. Also, although SoulKey lost against Bomber in BlizzCon, I would bet my money on his consistency for safety reasons. But then, again, I guess that's what's cool about Bomber. Everyone has a legitimate reason to root for or against him.

I think it's more Bomber's specific ability to look completely unstoppable in one series to the extent that people question if his opponent even had a chance and then in the very next series lose in a way that makes you feel silly for thinking he was even close to unstoppable to begin with. There are lots of players with results that vary greatly, but never with the same feel of domination followed by total submission that Bomber seems to display.

Everyone has a legitimate reason to root for or against him. I agree. For example, at IPL5 he showed the imo highest level of play at the tourney, when he dismantled apm master DRG in a macro game. But for what? Only to drop out against Polt in losers round 10. He deserves so much, but only gets a smaller part if it due to his inconsistency. Edit: Although I think Bomber got this match, its time to win some more stuff!

One could say that Soulkey is a choker, too, taking his consistent top-but-not-winning placements. I wouldn't call Soulkey a choker (remember his first GSL win when he came back from 0-3?). The times he was beaten were arguably times when he was not at his best or when the opponent has completely dismantled his play style.
