Good move for GOM all around and great for those of us who want to watch it on things that are not our PC. Don't count on mobile availability. Some tournament channels disable mobile streaming since fewer ads play on the twitch app than the main site. Although that's really dumb of them because you can't adblock the twitch app as far as I know. The only problem I've ever had with a tournament not streaming on Twitch mobile was with MLG at their last two events, and even then I've found workarounds. Otherwise, I have never had a problem with any other tournament, especially sc2 and DotA2 ones. All the WCS stuff was available on mobile before, so I expect something similar in the future.
Anyways, sick chat emoticons. ArtPylon to be the new kappa?

Oh, wow. Also, they misspelled Counter-Strike as Counter Stake.

They had the best vod system. The autoplay was so nice, I really hope they managed to continue that.

It's still $20 a season, a little less if you buy all 3 at once.
I swear Premium used to cost like $130 for the whole year, not $70.

also in the about section 2013 "Started a 24 hour Game Streaming Service"
so does this mean gomeXP = azubu = CLAUF?
such intrigue, wow.

I have a question. Will there still be the excellent spoiler-free VOD system on gomexp.com, or will they be using Twitch's VOD system?

That's because there used to be 4-5 GSLs a year, not 3.

They should really add Youtube streaming as well as Twitch if they can. Twitch is terrible for a ridiculous amount of viewers and no one should be exclusively using Twitch for anything.
|
I really question the decision to rebrand as GOMeXP, it sounds pretty stupid and honestly in esports saying this is on "TV" carries a more of a weight than saying I am an "expert". It was one of the biggest draws of GOM, knowing that what you are watching is big enough to be shown on TV. Maybe they are divesting their TV resources.
|
Well... I sure hope Twitch stops sucking complete fucking ass in Australia then...
|
Wow, big change.
Hopefully this permits GOM to reduce the costs of production without cutting quality.
Has GOM been moving away from streaming in their other endeavors as well? (i.e., other games, etc.)

wonder what would happen to #esports if twitch just died one day
|
Well now we can complain about GOMeXPvP if it ever gets to that point

I'm looking forward to the day that Twitch has a proper competitor and has to get its shit together.
With GOM moving over, that may be a while

I can see it now, djWHEAT slowly trying to build twitch into an e-sports evil empire to give it to miniWHEAT for his 10th birthday present.
Oh well, I'm happy with Twitch services so this is ok with me.

Guess we won't have a reliable GOM broadcast anymore... Big mistake by GOM. GOM has never lagged for me when Twitch would occasionally lag.
|
That's too bad. I vastly preferred GOM's broadcast to Twitch. It was always silky smooth.

ughhhhhh.... Twitch is so sh*t for me, can't watching anything even on medium, can only stream Low... I HATE this twitch monopoly, we need an alternative... I loved the gom streamer....
