Doubt it tbh. In fact, Jim came closest to beating Soulkey in a series between ALL foreigners.

Soulkey is probably Zerg player of the year. Sorry Jaedong, but you can of course rest easy on your 5 starleagues.

Well it may be Life. While he wasn't too succesful in WCS, he still won Iron Squid in January, MLG Winter Championship in March and IEM New York in October - plus second place behind TaeJa at DH:W and semifinal in Bucharest (also lost to TaeJa).

He was completely unsuccesful in WCS.

This is incorrect

Yeah. a ro16, ro32 and qualifying for Premier are pretty good results for someone like Life.

lol Sad thing is guys like Leenock fall into a similar category when it comes to the WCS in Korea. Soulkey did waaay better than the other guys.

nice win, but would anyone consider this a meaningful win? (given the competition)

You know I could say the same thing for many other tournaments and special events. :V Whatever and I really hope Blizzard starts listening to some of my ideas soon and given my past history in Brood War? I have knack for building contenders. At the very least the foreigners can become more competitive given the outline. Whatever they decide to do with it is another thing.

TL has it listed as a premier tournament, but looking at that list of premier tournaments this year, it is clearly not even close to being on the same level.

Just because someone lists something as a premier tournament doesn't make it so. It's completely subjective. If i dared to look up Red Bull I bet your ass someone would list it under premier when it couldn't be further from the truth. When in my opinion, they're special events and we have plenty of those. There was a time when WCG would be considered a premier event back in BW, but it most certainly isn't now and hasn't been for some time.

Certainly it would have! The only difference between that tournament and WCG finals was that players like Albion, Demigod, and Zerth were replaced by players like Innovation, Rain, and Curious.

I can see Scarlett getting first in her group, she can beat all three of those players pretty easy in my opinion (Bomber > jjakji), and if she does get first, she would have to face probably Stardust (who I think she can beat, even though her ZvP is not great), and then face a tough opponent. I don't really see her not getting top 4 here, given these circumstances and no edits done to bracket layout.
I used to play random, but for you I play very specifically.

Nice by soulkey. Didn't watch the games but heard that he was losing 2-1 to Jim at one point but to see him come back and win whole thing is nice. Sora also beating Parting 3-1, someone who I believe called him easy was great to see especially after Parting said Sora was easy or something in his last interview!

did better than Parting AND Sora vs Soulkey

Parting and Sora both each went 1 - 3 vs Soulkey

JIM took 2 games from Soulkey, 2 - 3

Does this mean JIM gots better PvZ than Parting AND Sora????

Jim could have won against Soulkey if only those three games were 3 straight up 3 base timing attacks. He won 2 games not by 2 base all in.He won securing 3-4 bases and with superb unit composition.Im really disgusted at how he threw last 2 games with 2base allins when he knew it doesnt work against Soulkey's caliber.

That's really a joke. Life never win any wcs events and never win Soulkey.

DIdn't make Blizzcon, didn't make a single Season finals. That's very unsuccessful for a player like Life.

I like how Soulkey gets in the backdoor because Innovation decided to give up his spot and then SK wins the whole thing.

Soulkey is the only top zerg I can recall that uses swarmhosts properly. They got him this championship.

And Jim just might be the best foreigner.
