Just don't blindly think everything he says is worth gold, things he says should be kept to the same reasonable standard as anybody else Of course, and I'm not a Flash fan (in fact, I didn't watch any BW and I don't think he is good). But you act as if there is no good solution and Blizzard is doing everything they can. There was a successful WCS system, and they replaced it with an inferior one. So when he says he it was a complete failure after the first season of WCS was so successful, it stands to reason.... (I'll let you fill in the blank). Logic goes a long way. Furthermore, the the community has explained to Blizzard in oh so many ways that region locking is a necessity (regions were locked in the first season of WCS) and has given many other suggestions to improve WCS. But Blizzard has ignored the advice of the community, and basically said that everything was fine. Flash saying it is a complete failure is evidence to the community and Blizzard that everything isn't fine, and that Blizzard is wrong. We all need to call a spade a spade here, and call WCS what it is: a failure. The sooner Blizzard realizes that, the better. So the question remains: are you listening Blizzard? Sure, you read this and hear us, but are actually listening?

If anything, it's made SC2 less popular in Korea than it was when there was just GSL/OSL. Blizzard fucked with the prize pools, and diluted the amount of skilled players. A lot of really great players that would normally be in GSL are now "taking the easy way out" by going for WCS EU/AM.

And hes not the only one It doesnt take a philosophy to see that we have less starcraft to watch and players have less chances & money to earn, not to mention all the (arguably related) disbanding/retirement. Does that read "failure" to you?

As for the game's popularity in Korea. I'm not sure what can be done. Broodwar was a cultural phenomenon in Korea. There are a glut of eZ free online games now. So Broodwar level popularity is probably unattainable for SC2. Still, maybe good marketing for LoTV and more Blizzard prize money could help somewhat.

Does that read "failure" to you? Well Retirement could be cause of Kespa entering into the scene. There was place for ~150 players (and ~30 top players) in KR before Kespa came. So with Kespa entrance, players have to leave.

He is right, WCS 2013 forcing their methods and rules over tournaments that were already successful and established is silly. I hope Blizzard feeds the tournaments, all of them, not just a 'special partner' in each region. Most importantly, the major tournaments in Korea like PL need help to start off (hasn't really kicked off in sc2). WCS could still be "in charge" by just giving out WCS points to however they want (hopefully way more to Korea with OSL, GSL, PL).
