Shortly after KeSPA switch, there were 5 GSLs that year and 1 OSL too (potentially 2 OSLs a year alongside those GSLs next year).

However, now it's 2 GSL and 1 OSL (technically we did have 3 GSL but that one was before the WCS system).

Of course, you can argue whether GSLs or OSLs would have cut short regardless of WCS system or not, and that's definitely a valid point (even without WCS, would there be less GSLs this year anyway)? In any case, the problem of the retirements lately is not just because of more players but also less tournaments too.
