“While I was practicing for todays match, my old skills returned to me”
Dear triumphed in the team-kill match, and moves on to the quarter-finals.
On the 2nd of October at the GOM TV studios in Gangnam, Dear (of team SouL) defeated Trap (of team SouL) 3:0 in the WCS KR Premier League Round of 8, and now has a spot in the semi-finals.
Since your debut, this is your first semi appearance.
The goal for this season is to be the champion. Because I’ve worked hard until now, I’ve made it to the semi-finals. I feel sorry after beating a team-mate.
Because you’ve made it through to the quarter-finals, this means you’re through to the season finals.
As I watched the finals for season 1 and 2, I really wanted to participate. I think I’m going to have to start working harder from now.
How did you prepare for todays match?
At the team-house, Trap is right next to me. When we practiced, Trap moved his seat and made a divider using a bag. We practiced without distracting each other.
You looked dominant as you beat him 3:0.
Usually, I am most confident in the mirror matchup, but my skills have declined a lot lately. However, while practicing for today’s match, and getting lots of help from others, I think I’ve regained my old skills.
In the quarter-finals, you’ll be playing a Terran.
Doesn’t matter who I’m playing. I am confident this season. I will make sure to take the trophy.
In the 2nd map, your blink stalker control was outstanding.
It was a build that was taught to me by ex SouL player Comet. I used it in Proleague often, and I like to use it in BoX series’s.
In the last map, you used Dark Templar.
sOs suggested the build. After being defeated by Trap, he asked me to make sure to get revenge for him (laughter).
Any thing you’d like to add?
I want to thank sOs, Terminator, Pigbaby and Parting for their help in practice. I hope that Trap gets through the playoffs and comes to the Season finals with me.
Soulkey – “I will win at Blizzcon”
“Iron-wall” Soulkey makes it through to the semi-finals, defeating Rain.
On the 2nd of October at the GOM TV studios in Gangnam, Soulkey (of team Woongjin) defeated Rain (of team SK Telecom) 3:0 in the WCS KR Premier League Round of 8, and now has a spot in the semi-finals.
How do you feel after defeating Rain?
It was really important to my coach, and of course myself, to make it through to the quarter-finals. At the moment I’m practicing from my house, and I don’t think I’ve worked this hard before.
How did you prepare for today’s match?
I practiced with the players around me. In particular, sOs was really active about helping me practice. The build I used in the first map was suggested to me by sOs. Dear, Terminator and First also all worked really hard to help me.
Woongjin is going through some major restructuring at the moment.
I felt like it would be good for the team if I showed some good results, so I workerd hard. I was working hard for myself also, but my heart was in it for the team. After I heard the news, I felt crushed.
Who do you want your next opponent to be?
Doesn’t matter who it is. I’m confident regardless.
You’ve also now qualified for the season finals.
I was really upset after not making it last season. This time, I really want to go. I want to win this season in Korea of course, but I want to win at Blizzcon too.
You blocked all of Rains attacks to win.
I feel like I had a lot of luck with me. In the second map, during the engagement I thought that I had lost. Luckily, because he didn’t have an observer I was able to take the win.
Your opponent Rain looked like he was in bad condition today.
I haven’t played him a lot so I’m not sure. During the second map, during the big engagement I could feel that he was tense.
Any additional thoughts?
I want to thank the many players that helped me practice. I want to thank the coach, the manager and my friend Kim Won Jong (a LoL player?) for coming to the studio with me. In the semi-finals, I want to show an even-more improved version of myself.
