Fact of the matter is nothing came of the "scam", so there was no point in even posting about it. Was a private matter that got turned into a "PR" stunt. Just a bad judgement call in making the thread. Yes it got the athena guy banned and brought attention to him, but he was probably the most terrible scammer I've ever seen and more emphasis was put towards trying to sympathize with the team instead of the actual issue which is don't trust the guy with 2 county mugshots Lol. Bottom line, if an offer seems too good to be true it most definitely is. | ||

Trying to see things from the perspectives of Rei, nanocloud, nano's pathetic alts, sca members, etc., and what a fucking psychological adventure diciphering these kids' true intentions. For example, still not sure if rei is too dumb to tell the difference between a gold replay and a GM one, or he's actually working with nano trying (and failing) to deceive others about nano's true skill level. Also, still not understanding how people can be so fucking shameless and stupid; for Athena and nanocloud, it's been quality entertainment seeing them bury themselves deeper and deeper with each post. It's not even about smi getting "scammed" anymore, now I'm just waiting for this nanocloud vs sca drama to unfold further. | ||

I think the entire thread needs to be brought back on track though. Why are we arguing about the skill level of a player at some point? It's important for people to see these kinds of things happening to know what to learn from. Naivete or not, that shit's going to happen to people who otherwise see that it was silly in hindsight. It was a post that willingly brought up points that made sMi look foolish in some cases, and I'm sure the OP knew that. He did something that was pretty brave and got shit on for it, it's kinda a shame. If we take this post out of context, without blame being placed or judgment passed, we get a good account of a team that had their hopes dashed and how the dasher did it. Using that information we as other players can learn what sorts of things we can look at to make sure it doesn't happen to us, or to notice things that might be fishy. "Oh, this is similar to what I read happened to sMi" is a much stronger response than someone simply saying "just make sure you check this shit in the first place". It takes experience to learn in a lot of cases, and by sharing your experience you advance things one way or another. I don't feel that there was enough evidence to really force this Athena dude out of the community for instance, but there's plenty of evidence posted in a thought-out manner to make me see what they went through and to remember that for the future. We're too caught up on "oh this guy's not that bad, I know him!" "You guys were dumb to get scammed like this" "Why was the guy even trying to scam you?" "You're not even a good team lol" and not the message behind the post itself. It's a shame too, because it seems like the post was made with good intentions. | ||

 Just an observation, This NanoCloud guy seems very suspicious. Admitting he has connection to boosting, very evasive about his own play, and anyone who is legit would be much more angry about being falsely accused. If I had to bet my life I'd say he's lying. Also this Athena guy is so stupid, He sounds stupid enough that he might actually believe himself. | ||
