The North American division of a forex trading company's venture into eSports has released three of its better known players. FXO.NA has been lauded for seeking to develop North American talent, with its biggest success story being Neeb, the 15 year old who managed to qualify for WCS America Premier League.
However, three of their more distinguished players have been released this past week.
The Canadian Terran, Drunkenboi, recently made a name for himself by qualifying into WCS America Challenger league, notably by defeating PiG and CatZ. He also made headway into Shoutcraft America defeating Goswser and teammate Neeb. EDIT: Drunkenboi himself asked to be released.
jEcho made his name whilst on Infinity Seven, placing third in the GeForce Amateur, defeating IefNaij and TriMaster, and losing to Hack by only one map. Unfortunately, it seems he is no longer very active.
JimRiSiNg is arguably the third best player from Mexico, having placed third in the WCS 2012 Mexico Nationals, and second in WCG Mexico, always losing out to Maker, another former FXO.NA player. JimRising moves to the well known Brood War clan, Team sMi.
FXO have also recently launched a new website. (third time's the charm?)

Seems interesting, maybe searching for new team. I remember Desrow saying on stream that FXO.NA didn't get a salary

I wonder if he has real life obligations getting in the way of SC2, would be a shame ;(

Hopefully drunkenboi finds a new team soon. I have a feeling he will get picked up by a major teams academy side or something
|
|
all great NA players, I have absolute confidence they will all find new teams soon if they haven't already.
|
Why Drunkenboi? The other two releases makes sense but Drunkenboi has been on a steady rise.
|
Ah, so Drunkenboi asked for the release. Well, that makes sense (compared to FXO releasing Drunkenboi on their own initiative).
|
They release then players people know of.... lol
|
Can fxo boss make a comment? o;
|
No idea.. I am not part of FXO anymore. haven't been since december 15th. I'd say at least in Dboi's case he got a better offer elsewhere and took it. Although how to measure the value at the moment is difficult, I can't blame him or FXO for what has happened. Seems reasonable over all. No drama.
|
He asked to be released/left FXO....while being on the team he still didn't get his gear (7 months)...such a shame to see this happen to him

jEcho was released due to prolonged inactivity. Drunkenboi asked to be released. (this one hurt a lot...) JimRising received an offer from sMi and he took it (this one hurt a lot as well...)
However, this means that FXO will be starting recruitment processes again. It's time to re-build the team.

1) that is racist 2) is not true 3) is hard to stay in a team if theres racist people like u there.
|
If I'm not wrong Drunkenboi starts university in september, that would be my guess for his stepping down.
|
Juan,Maker,Jimrising all very dedicated to the game the latino scene isnt too big so they only do what any pro player has to do, which is join the best team to gain the best practice and pay depending on how passionate they are about that team. And yes I agree that does sound pretty racist

God forbid you ever come into contact with actual racism.

small racism, big racism, all are racist after all, i really doubt u have a clue about what "actual racism" is.

Theres no latin scene, thats why i say community instead blizz never supported properly the latin server in the beginning of sc2 and that crushed his chances of grow.

I play with JEcho in League of Legends, he now plays LoL mostly.
If anyone was curious.

I keep forgetting this team exists you don't hear much from fxo NA which is a shame :/. Wonder who they will pickup (if anyone) after losing 3 players, well 2 I don't really count jecho because he hasn't been playing sc2 for awhile unless I am mistaken.

FXO has never been very good at advertising its players and getting the team's name out there to the public with news and announcements.
However, we've recently put the finishing touches on a brand new web site, and we're planning to do nothing but push content from here on out for all FXO teams (NA SC2, KR SC2, NA LoL, KR DotA 2) Here is the link: http://teamfxo.com
As for NA here's what we've been doing so far:
- zGt Team league Season 1 1st place - OMG Team League Season 1 2nd place - URTL Season 2 qualified for playoffs - Neeb in premier - RemarK, kaRmy, desRow participated in 2013 MLG Anaheim
We're not a big name team. But we're definitely not nobodies

maybe they found out drunkenboi hacks,
YEAH I SAID IT

tt he doesn't hack.
Anyways, it sucks to lose some of our best players and good friends, but I'm confident that Drunkenboi and Jim will be doing big things in the future and find good homes in other teams. ^_^
And I can't wait to see what new players we will be recruiting
|
LgNavilo -> FXO.NAvilo :D
|
^You know...his name is Avilo and the tag is LgN, for Legion. If you're a fan, why wouldn't you know that? :Þ
EDIT: Ohhh, I suppose you're pointing out FXONA specifically. Hrmm. I don't even think of them as having different names for the different squads other than maybe A team, B team etc. :S
