In fact, I welcome it more than them talking about absolutely nothing interesting during the early game.
Yet you don't hear Korean casters do this at all. Wonder why.... There is some sort of random banter but it's all more related to the game, players and setting of it all.

How can you have a "GSL" finals without Tastosis??? Why would you fly in casters 10,000+ miles when the you already have pretty much the best 4 sc2 english casters already in Korea??? I wish I had that kind of money to waste

Your argument: Korean casters don't do it, and therefore Tastosis should not as well. Way to go! I personally don't care for the Korean casters since I do not understand a word of Korean.

It's not the GSL final. That's later this week on June 1. GSL is now a qualifier for WCS Season 1 finals the week after.
Wooo glad to see day9 casting as he's still tied for best caster along with artosis. If gom's doing a simulcast too, then I'll probably watch that plus day9. I like doa too, but if it comes to a head to head simulcast, I will always choose tastosis.

I keep hearing this excuse but back when engine was casting themarine tournament in english suddenly there was a lot of stuff to talk about every game during "downtime".

WTF Blizzard? Can I blame Blizzard for this? Someone tell me!
Blame OGN. They're using their own casters. I'm not sure why people are surprised by this. Tastosis are not employed by OGN and they're under contract w/ GOM.
All that said, I fail to see the problem. Doa/Montecristo are really good.

I don't see why this is weird or surprising.
Yeah. Most likely this.
And im getting tired of artosis
You and about 7 other people on the planet are tired of Artosis/Tasteless. Please man, they are obviously the best casters in the scene for the vast majority of the community. Can't believe/understand why GOM is getting the finger all of the sudden from Blizzard.
P.S. Not saying Day9 and Apollo aren't wonderful, as they are (it's comforting to know that at least they will be there) . . . it's just sad to see Tastosis left out of such an important event due to politics. Thought Blizzard had control over this situation and would know better?
Edit: Apparently Tastosis will be casting the event remotely which satisfies my being disgruntled.

Agreed. OGN and GOM hate each other behind the scenes and I don't think that has changed with WCS. The public "partnership" is held together by a delicate piece of equipment called the blizzard muzzle. It's the only thing stopping them from tearing each other apart in public.
Korean competition b/w other companies is just ruthless in korea. Here's a story of LG vs Samsung to give you a glimpse of the korean mentality.
Didn't Artosis say some time ago (around WCS first announcement), that he will not be in Korea starting from the Season 1 end till Season 3, or something along those lines? That would completely explain his absence at the event.
Also no one can deny the fact that this show is being run by OGN, they can do as they please with whom they are going to invite. As I understand, it is a turn around situation that we had in WCS Korea S1, GOM should get a video feed from OGN, and Khaldor and Wolf probably will be there in GOM studio to cast it. It would be nice if they could be allowed a place at the venue, but I doubt its gonna happen as they are not OGN employees.

Yes there will be.
No professional commentators consistently bring out their private life or stupid things such as pokemon issues while discussing the beginning of a match. It's so glaringly unprofessional and retarded. There is a way to talk about non-Starcraft related issues while commentating a Starcraft game, it's called being very subtle, not getting bored of a standard early game and after a long silence be like "Tasteless asks me a question".
Have you any idea how many money they make for the amount of work they do, or the amount of people who wished they could be in their shoes (professionaly) ? If you had this in mind, you would be much more critical, and rightfully so.
No Tastosis is weirding me out. Doesn't really make sense to me at all. This is supposed to be the Season 1 Global Finals, right? Why not have the best possible casters there?

Because GOM got to host two WCS tournaments (WCS KR Seasons 1 and 3) this year, whereas OGN only has time to squeeze in 1 (WCS KR Season 2). The solution? Give OGN the fourth WCS tournament to be played out in Korea this year. Seriously, whether you like OGN or not, this is the most fair solution available and the solution most likely to make sure no one is (too) unhappy.
Doa and Montecristo are actually good, but they've not been given the spotlight yet. It'll be really cool to see them cast a big tournament, despite the fact that I might've liked some other casters more. At the very least give them a chance before crying - Doa was a SC2 caster before he was shafted by the whole KeSPA-OGN thing.

grow a sense of humor. you're not even german, i don't know why you don't have one.
why do people watch starcraft? because it is entertainment. what happens when entertainment isn't entertaining? people get bored, and maybe even stop watching. why are there casters? to guide the less experienced viewers and to entertain all the viewers. of course, strategy discussion etc can and should be seen as one kind of 'entertainment' that is appropriate for an sc2 broadcast, but it is only one kind, and not the only one. chill out bro. if your job is to be an entertainer it's not "unprofessional" to be entertaining.
if you don't personally like Tastosis' humor/personalities, that's absolutely fine. but i don't get why you have to take a source of entertainment so unbelievably seriously. i'm sorry for singling you out btw, this is something that has been bothering me for a while now.

I am being critical, and I have absolutely no qualms about the lighthearted banter. Please do not assume that by being critical means I necessarily have to criticize them in the way you personally think they should be. Have you conveniently forgotten the top-notch commentary they provide after the initial banter? Why bash on them for just having a little fun? Do you have any idea how much viewership Tastosis draw from just simply being there? They are more than earning their keep.
