Every team needs a face.FXO NA and EU were basically charity projects anyways. I hardly even knew babyknight used to be in FXO let alone the other players. What are they actually paying these players salary for? How was FXO EU a charity project? Three top EU players in their respective race, two of which live in countries where the money made off eSports is actually really good. They do really well in EU team leagues and the domestic scene. They did pretty well in terms of incomeas well. They're a really talented bunch that can do really well in WCS Europe.

But its really beside the point whats important is whether they got anyone that actually brings viewers. Do they?

Do they? 17k is pretty good for mid tier foreigners lol. that's like three times what he would have made in three years with an average Ukrainian salary lol. They don't attract the viewers that EG or Liquid players attract obviously, not too bad however. Keep in mind that streaming isn't everything - it only became viable relatively recently, and eSports has been around for quite some time now. Organisations are still able to rake in sponsors of they have achievements to show, for example.

Also who is sponsoring an esports team that doesnt get eyeballs for their sponsors? Thats why im saying creating a team without a person that has substantial pull is either a charity project or bad business.

I am curious if the new WCS format is gonna change that in EU and NA.

Well, evidently, some people do think they're good enough to promote their interests and sponsors. That someone happens to be one of the most successful organisations in eSports. It is true that they don't have any world champions for now, then again, no foreign team does except for EG, Liquid and Mouz. Thing is, I doubt an org like Na'Vi would ever consider hiring Koreans, because they traditionally go for Ukrainians and nearby countries, and there are very few players which most would consider 'profitable'. But then again, perhaps Na'Vi have a plan to foster these players, or have good enough connections to sell them to sponsors. Hell, before EG got so rich, their players weren't that good at all, but they knew how to market them. If teams weren't able to sell mid-tier pros to sponsors, Fnatic, Dignitas, and most other teams wouldn't have SC2 teams by now.

Really excited to see Na'Vi, one of the most organized and dedicated esports franchises trying out sc2, i'm pretty sure they're gonna give all the support to their players like they already do in CS and DotA2. Particularly curious about how much Babyknight, Lowely and Strelok will grow in this more professional enviroment. Good luck to my, insta-favourite european team GO NA'VI!
