This should be a really good event. Excited to see another big foreign tournament now that Heart of the Swarm is a bit more figured out.

They don't have a match during DreamHack... Only on Tuesday which is 3 days after DreamHack ends...

DreamHack has finally managed to attract all the top-tier, popular Koreans, which makes me very happy. Can't wait to see Polt, HyuN, Center and GuMiho play especially.

All the top tier Koreans?

It's missing the best 4 players in the world right now imo (Innovation, Life, Roro, Flash).

Great lineup nonetheless, much improved from previous Dreamhack's which have always underwhelmed me in terms of player pool.

On which bases are those 4 the 4 best in the world? Don´t get me wrong, all of them are incredible ,but for example YoDa, PartinG, Taeja or Rain surely have their arguments as well.

Ryo, why is´nt Vortix going? Signed up to late, or some other reason?

VortiX didn't sign-up. He is not going cuz he is busy with studies right now and he has 2 exams the day before and the day after the tournament

That´s understandable, good luck to him then.

There's no argument for Taeja. He's been poor/injured for a while. Parting and Rain are both class players but neither have had a top finish in HOTS yet. Yoda is really good but imo hasn't been really tested yet by the real elite, he didn't go to MLG and though he won IEM it wasn't an elite pool like a Code S. Even today I don't really see DRG and Flying as top players.

Life is the best player in the world and last MLG winner, Roro just won Code S and made it out of his group in Code S. Innovation was Ro4 at MLG, Ro4 at the last GSL and has been sick in Pro League. Flash was MLG finalist, good pro league record.

I think you can argue against Roro and Flash but Life and Innovation are on another level imo.

I probably misunderstood you, thought you meant those for were "the" 4, like MC/MVP/Nestea were the three gods in early 2011. IMHO Life is the best player in the world and after that there is a small gap to rest of the world elite. Yoda is a name, I would´nt set inferior to anyone else, as besides his IEM-win, + Show Spoiler +
he just sweept a group, where MLG-top4-finisher MC had a really hard time
. Polt for example is another name, who was just really unlucky to run into Life in the second round of MLG. But like I said, I really don´t want to be nitpicky here, I just understood you a bit wrong.

Gumiho? Woaaahh. Does Gumiho go to foreign tourneys usually? Maybe it's just me but this Dreamhack seems like its going to be more epic than any other Dreamhack so far.

This is GuMiho's first foreign tournament... He originally stated that he won't attend foreign events until he's a GSL champion, but he's attending DreamHack so I guess he gave up on the idea of going to foreign tournaments a champion.

Just vote on your King of the North...

I wonder why Snute has 0%. He is good and he is from Norway which is easily more Northern country than Sweden...

Anyway ThorZaIN is officially now KotN - first round win.

I don't understand why tournament organizers still invite too many players in general and too many koreans to their events in 2013. Dreamhack will likely be ace, but it will suffer in a lot of ways, as will teams suffer because their travelling expenses go up, while there's going to be little media (sponsorship) coverage for their players due to the huge amount of players. 16-24 players with mixed origin and background is the ideal number. I guess we don't want E-Sports growing in terms of production, coverage quality and prize money as fast as it could be growing.

Since Dreamhack doesn't run a qualifier system for these events it would be quite hard to organize an open tournament for everyone with just max 24 players. I also really like these kind of big tournaments in general.

And most tournaments have stopped doing invites by now btw.

Everything is becoming invite only these days which is pretty lame in my book when it comes to establishing talent. I'm not a fan of what MLG is doing and I'm not a fan of this either, which DH has been doing for a lot longer format wise.

Dreamhack is an open tournament, it is quite the opposite of invite only. SortOf for example signed up to late and could´nt get in, while a bunch of no-names are attending, simply because they signed up earlier.

That's sign-ups. Not the same as qualifiers.

It's not the same as invites either which a lot of people seem to believe.
