In the Ro4 match of the SPL Heart of the Swarm Special Match between TBLS and Masters, Bisu stepped up to clinch the final victory needed for the win.
How does it feel to help your team win?
I personally think that getting this first victory in Heart of the Swarm is a good start. It feels like I'll be able to play well in my next game too. I dragged my team down after losing the first game, but Coach Han still let me play in the fifth game. It was PvZ, which I am confident in, and so I was able to get a good result.
Your performance in the first game was still lacking in some areas. How much have you adapted to Heart of the Swarm?
If full marks is 100 marks, I can only give myself 50. I haven't been able to show my stuff yet in tournaments, and I also don't know if I'm playing well or playing badly. In Wings of Liberty, I was too noob, so fans probably don't have much expectations for me I guess. I am currently preparing seriously in order to have a different performance from before.
Hydra actually made his Hydralisks dance. Did you expect it?
I know, but it's been a long time since I played officially, and it really surprised me. I actually wanted to produce enough Templars, and then add in Tempests, but I rushed it a bit too much.
When did you start practising Heart of the Swarm?
1-2 weeks before the third round of SPL ended. Even though some pro-gamers have already started practising at that time, these weren't core players, and I didn't feel anything even if I beat them. When I play ladder recently, everyone's really good now (laughs).
Your record in the league is 1 win and 2 losses in the first half of the league. What's your goal for the second half?
My goal has never been set high. I always felt that if I could get 10 wins, I would have already been playing very well. I want to get the 10 wins first before talking more about it. I believe that there'll be better results in the future.
Fans are hoping for the revival of Bisu.
SPL aside, I also have to achieve good results in individual leagues. When I produce results in individual leagues, many fans become happy. I've forgotten for a long time how that feels. Tasting the joy during victory in individual leagues is something that happened so long ago. If I manage to make it into OSL or GSL Code S, I guess the fans would be really happy. . Your struggled a lot in Wings of Liberty.
An important reason is that I can't find the confidence that I used to have before. My results in ladder aren't good either. I am not confident in my own skills. But it feels like the change this time is huge. I think I might be able to walk out of the slump if I practise more, and so I'm currently working hard to practise.
When we talk about Bisu in Starcraft 1, the trademark units used would be Corsairs and Dark Templars. What's the trademark unit in Starcraft 2?
I like the Mothership Core. If the Oracle is used well it's pretty good too, but it has low life, and so it's a unit that makes me worry a lot. The Mothership Core can guaratee that you never get early game rushed. I tend to die to proxy barracks or 6 pool in the early game, and now I finally have a unit that can handle it, and that makes me much more comfortable. That's why I like the Mothership Core.
Anything else you wish to say?
Up to now I've always been playing with a very relaxed attitude. Tomorrow's the finals, and I need to play seriously. There should be some prize money to make it better. That'd allow people to be motivated wouldn't it? (laughs)

Thanks for the interview!

iam waiting for a protoss to step up

Glad to see Bisu's still in it to win it =D. Long live the revolutionist! Hopefully he'll give us a second revolution.

Thanks for translating. Glad to see a few wins from Bisu, and he sounds at least somewhat confident he can turn his performance around.

Bisu dies to 6 pools a lot? ...... wow
|
just watched his the two hots games where he won. no idea wtf was happening (i dont watch sc2), but against true i saw something reminiscent of corsair/dark i teared.

I hope Bisu makes it into Code A

God I hope you do well bisu
|
I think the the last few rounds of PL are going to be really exciting
|
BISU!!! I know nowadays his play's more comic relief than inspiration, but Bisu was one of the few BW players I followed casually. From a fanboy perspective, I really really hope Bisu shines in HOTS.

It was PvZ, which I am confident in
The revolution. It's coming.
+ Show Spoiler +Jokes aside I'm glad to see Bisu being the not-worst player in the entirety of KeSPA. It would be really great to see him compete on (semi-)even footing in the individual leagues again.
|
|
Things just feel right when Bisu wins games.
|
BISU!!!!!!! So good to see him again!
|
I cant believe I feel happy for Bisu :D I used to hate him in the BW days but now I just want the legends to rise to the top again
|
Hmmm definitely sounds like he has a bit of an issue with confidence and motivation right now. This interview contrasts strongly with the new Flash one.
|
Its understandable considering that Flash already is a strong contender as one of the best terran players in the world, while Bisu went from being T1's best proleague player to barely relevant in the scene. That has to be hard on the morale for anyone, even an experienced competitor like him. That said, as a huge fan, I hope this helps him with his confidence and that he becomes a monster once again!
|
April first i see, amusing that we hear something from Bisu again
|
His answers are so timid and reserved. Would love to hear some confidence in these answers soon
|
Glad to see that Bisu was able to get a win, hopefully this will provide the boost he needs to make him feel some sort of confidence. Looking forward to seeing what he will be able to do in HotS compared to his lackluster time in WoL.
|
These interviews are fantastic. Thanks so much for bringing them here! Hope Bisu does well!
|
gogo Bisu I believe in you!
|
I just want to say that you had a magnificent chance for an April Fools here, esp considering it was Bisu haha, but thanks for the translation, really kinda feel sad for him though

Thanks for the interview! Bisu hwaiting~

It would have been the best practical joke if someone faked a Bisu Winner's interview for April Fools.
More glad he finally won something. Bisu!

yey! bisu thanks for translating
i hope there's an interview for all the players of the team who won the spl special finals match.

Only 50 marks to go before you can take a game off of Flash.

I'd rather mention the SPL finals where Bisu made him cry like a baby. That moment was worth as much as an OSL gold at LEAST.

Thanks for translation! Good to see Bisu doing better

old story new, Bisu always lacked firmness to perform in individual leagues. Dropping games to mediocrities like Shine and Roro and playing well only in PL can only get you this far. Bisu is the protoss version of Sea.
|
funny, in 2007 bisu sucked in proleague but excelled in individual

Yah Savior killing triple MSL winning Protoss version of Sea.

I really hope he does well. I really like Flash, but as a Protoss I would like to have him as my hero. And ofcourse still lots of love for players like SKMC, SKTRain, StartaleSquirtle and SKTParting.

I tend to die to proxy barracks or 6 pool in the early game, and now I finally have a unit that can handle it, and that makes me much more comfortable Sounds like some sort of late night advertisement testimony, where the product is meant to get you out of bronze and into the "league you belong in"

We don't need a revolution just yet. Hold yer horses, Bisu.

I wish he just gave up on his career. I dont want to be a negative nancy, but he is really destroying his legacy... I never want to associate scrubiness with Bisu... I wouldnt mind if he went to play in the SSL or just straight up retired, but him failing at SC2 just hurts me...

Yeah some people are ill informed on Bisu. He was heavily focused on individual leagues back when he was on MBCGame. He was actually much worse at PL at that time. Once the trade to SKT happened he was turned into a team league player where he dominated there instead. Bisu has just never had both worlds at the same time unfortunately.

I also wished Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali gave up when their careers looked rocky as well (practically in the middle of their careers). I wish they and countless other athletes had played it safe and didn't risk damaging their legacy. Of course if they had done that Jordan wouldn't have one THREE more titles and Ali would have never squared off against Frazier and given us the fight of the century and we definitely wouldn't have had Ali vs Foreman Rumble in the Jungle and The "Thrilla "in Manilla.
Tell me again how you think what makes these people great is their ability to quit when things get tough.
We wouldn't have had Space Jam with this line of thinking you fool. SPACE JAM!!!!

Even though the entire SC2 community has decided to bandwagon call him a scrub and TL diminished his name by making a crappy FPL award after him, it all doesn't matter when there is a chance to a Bisu resurgence. I don't care if it's SC2 I just want people to get smashed by him.

Bisu is the starcraft ferrari mechanic wise. I'll always remember OOV in old boy I think, telling Nal_Ra something like "this is fucking KTY, dude".
Artosis also said once, after seeing bisu play real life a couple years back standing next to him, that bisu was the best starcraft player he ever saw.
