aLive managed to qualify for Code A and beat Trap, so that's probably about what he is. mid to low Code A player

I like the idea of the Nightend line, but end of the day that doesn't make him one of the worst progamers in the foreign scene. Even someone of his calibre still pisses over much of the NA pros for the most part.

Looking over the results from WCSNA... I don't see NightEnd rolling over any of the top 4, or over Illusion, Huk, Suppy or Goswser. I mean, we're living in a world where Maker is a pro player theoretically, and yeah, I would expect NightEnd to crush. But that would just confirm to me that Maker doesn't deserve to be taken seriously. If you aren't good enough to beat NightEnd with some frequency, then you aren't good enough to be a pro gamer. He's the line, to me.

Edit: Let's see what happens at the end of April at DreamHack. So far, the only Koreans announced are MC, HerO, Jaedong, ForGG and Zenio.

Both strike me as players with potential. They very likely won't live up to what they can be on EG, but they're still better than most of the EG-TL lineup outside of Taeja and HerO(maybe better than him too as of late..) so a welcome addition for proleague. Especially since Stephano is now gone.

Alive especially. That guy was once made ro8 and ro4 appearances in back to back code S seasons, won IPL4(one of the hardest tournaments ever) and then followed it up with a decent 4th place at Iron Squid...

then he fell off into the abyss for whatever reason.

What assumptions about pro-gamer salaries are you making to even ask this question?

stephano and huk left their teams because eg offered to pay them muuuch more than their past teams (they stated that in interviews as far as i remember). also jaedong is probably getting a big salary as he is a superstar and he wouldve been picked up by another team if eg offered him a laughable amount of money

Seems like a solid pickup, Alive specialy at times showed briliant play. Who knows perhaps they can get back to there former level of play and would serieusly help out in proleague.

Apparently this http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=257877 is not affordable even by eg, thank god for that

aLive and Oz aren't Stephano/huk/jaedong though. its safe to say they don't make anywhere near the same amount of money.

Looks like EGTL wants to take proleague seriously now. Congrats

I would too tho after hearing in korea they think EGTL means "every game they lose"

Looking forward to seeing them in the playoffs now. Let those proleagers know EGTL is something to worry about

EG is starting to remind me of my rich friends from high school that always had some new duds. Not the idiot rich kids either, with the flashy shit that goes out of style in two days; but the real cool stuff that instead of screaming rich/spoiled, hints at more than just the thin veneer of class. They walk it lightly and let the understatement speak volumes.

You gotta love them kids, even when you hate 'em.

Anyway, GL to everyone involved.

Is it wrong that my biggest memory of Oz is being shocked that he was beat by some 17 year old named "Jjakji"?

Holy fuck didn't actually expect EG to focus so heavily on Proleague.
Hopefully they can now really become a competitor.

Even if I was on it a whole ago
