Aphrodite needs more exposure. Sure her and Eve don't play at the level normally seen in gstl but shes a very solid player (mid-high KR master?) and girls deserve more starcraft heroes to identify with.
Everything in life is most clearly explained through a Starcraft analogy.

I just clicked into Eve's TLPD out of curiosity and the first thing I read is, "Started his career for Cascade."

I guess that whole use the same template for every progamer only works if they're all guys haha.

Either way, great PR move by both teams, or by GOMTV, and it should be fun to watch. I imagine though that Aphrodite is probably going to smash Eve, she's actually quite good. But either way I don't see them combining for more than one win.

Aphrodite is actually quite good. Can at least take ladder games off some really good players once in awhile. Even if they are just ladder games.

Ya, saw her win a crazy micro game against Vines once. I'm sure she wins other players regularly, we just don't know about it. Regardless, I have never been so stoked for a GSTL event. For over a year now, I've been really wanting to see them play. Pretty awesome they are getting their chance finally, and what better than a face-off? w00t ^__^

well, now that i have found out she wins ladder games....against Vines of all people....i will ignore the fact that they both have done nothing of note in their entire sc2 careers. its a joke, pr stunt.

Well someone is taking GSTL preseason pretty seriously...

not really. i'll watch and enjoy (hopefully). but im just calling it like it is and am amazed at people who actually think this is serious.

Time for KTFlash to come in and sweep the scene with his amazing hellbat micro and then be forced to change his name to HellbatkingPrime!

The prize pool is really small(like $2000 for the whole team) and Artosis said that none of the teams are throwing down hard. Rather, they are using the GSTL to give fresh faces time in the booth and let everyone get a few live HotS matches under their belt.

I know its weird for some people, every once and a while, these teams play SC2 for fun.

Although this is a really nice PR move, it's not a as "stupid" as you all think.
Eve and Aphrodite are legitimately SC2 pros, whether you want to accept that or not. Neither of them have a single game in the booth, so their booth experience is nothing.
This is the preseason. The time when you get your players warming up to get ready to give it their all in the season.

Ever watch the preseason of any pro sport? You have really silly games, and really big blowouts occur for stupid reasons.

This is a good move to give Eve, who stated that she wants to compete at a fully professional level, and not act as a PR representative, as well as Aphrodite, who is the #1 female player behind Scarlett who has never been in a GSL booth.

Although this won't be top GM play (KR server GM...), this will be fun to watch for several reasons.
1) We get to see how far along these players are since the last time we saw them.
2) We get to watch some unique games.

Don't forget this isn't just female vs female. This also means female vs male in the second game.
This allows for a potential HUGE upset.

All these little factors are included rather than just looking at it as a PR move. Let's support eSports and all watch the games and give our civilized feedback ^_^

Stop crying please. Your negativity is not only with little basis, but also very unnecessary

dont be obtuse. its not whine, its ridicule. and eve has been in the booth. i dont mind that they are doing this, but its a PR move. you really think its a coincidence that both teams decide to put out low level female players for the first game? naive.

If you're going to sell me sex, cut the bullshit and just put them in bathing suits because you damn well know you don't want to see two subpar pro-gamers playing against each other in a meaningless match.

I am simply stating information that was provided by Artosis. I guess if you want to call it a PR stunt, you can. The teams are entertainers as well as groups of competitive players. Every sport does this sort of stuff and doesn't have to be anything more that teams putting on a show for the fans.

i stated my opinion, and people chose to respond with bullshit ("oh, they are really good, its not a pr stunt"). i decided to call out their bullshit. i, for one, am excited to see aphrodite play on the big stage, but it still is what it is: a pr stunt to showcase the females. people can say i am negative all they want, but i choose to be honest about it.

There was a movie with a rabbit and a deer has something about saying something nice or not talking, but I can't remember exactly...I think it applies. Does it really matter if the players are top teir and can qualify for code S? As long as the game is fun and people enjoy it, it does not matter.

unless you are disagreeing with my point that the only reason they are in the booths is because they are female, dont bother to respond. you seem to want to argue a point im not even making.

I completely agree with you, they are in the booth because they are female, it is not because they almost qualified for code S. Why does it matter? There are no female pro gamers in the scene at all beyond Scarlett and none in Korea that I am aware of. There is no women's only league either, like many professional other professional sports. If both teams want to feature what they feel are highly skilled female players, there is nothing incorrect or bad about that. It is a preseason league and if they are going to feature a couple of the few female pro gamers in Korea, more power to them.
