they left because they couldn't break out in bw. being a practice towel may as well be prison i guess. but now that they aren't in that zone anymore, it won't be as bad

Wow, it looks like the promise of big salaries from Kespa is going to destroy even the biggest Esf teams...

Polt, HyuN, Symbol, Squirtle....

Playing in Proleague on TV is a good experience I guess, the only thing they lose is not playing in GSTL which far less people watch, they can still play GSL. Foreign tournament participation will go down but they are playing Proleague every week twice a week.

ST still has a lot of great players, but so did TSL. I don't know what to think about this.
Players want larger salary, current team cannot afford it, player leaves team. While a free agent, the player finds out that teams have become more cautious about their spending and thus, no team is offering a good enough salary for the player. Player finds out that Kespa can give the player the salary it wants and benefits. Player then tries to join Kespa team.
Honestly this is a confusing time. Lots of free agent players, teams disbanding or making financial cuts, and on top of all this is HOTS two months away.

I wonder, is it possible to be signed by Team 8?

Squirtle and Parting leaving? :/
|
Damn, Startale's two best protoss players gone. Does Squirtle plan on going to a Kespa team too, or will he go to IM (since he's good friends with Losira)?

I can't help the feeling that these are kids making irresponsible decisions
I don't know about this.

making irresponsible decisions would be to not go to an organization with far more money and stability

It's not just about the money. It's about participating in as many foreign tournaments as possible. It's about inscreasing your fanbase as much as possible. etc.
I'm glad these pros are leaving korean teams, and I hope to see more people leaving their teams in the future.

December/January is the new free agent season from now on. The amount of talent and personality on the market is incredible, and this really leaves so many teams to salivate on the pool of talent they can tap into.

How is going somewhere else to make more money irresponsible?

Parting has more personality and better recent results than Squirtle, but he'll still probably get a nice salary from a KeSPA team if he switches now.
When someone like Harrier or Brain tell ST to fuck off, try to join KeSPA, and then watch when no one bids on them, then we can say it was a stupid move. Squirtle and ST couldn't come to terms with money and we'll see if he can get a better job elsewhere.

Lol @ Fionn. I always thought that Startale's players would stick to being on Startale. Guess the Kespa teams are offering more money or better environments. GL to Squirtle and Startale. Maybe now they can pick up another big free agent to replace Squirtle and Parting
