It would be nice if there was some way to automate the update using the results from liquipedia. I don't know how feasible that is, but if the equation for determining adj. trade value is fixed, and liquipedia has the win/loss information (which is updated promptly), it seems possible. Just a thought.

The FPL system for TL.net wasn't coded by R1CH, he is just the only one keeping it running still. So I'm not sure how feasible an automated parsing of Liquipedia would be for him to add (or if he even has the time to do it). Also, since everyone can edit Liquipedia, there may be errors which, when parsed, would invalidate the data and cause various problems and the update would then have to be manually rolled back and fixed. So for the moment, weekly results have to be entered manually whenever R1CH or I guess monk have time to do it.

The formulas for the trade values for this round are fixed:
player trade value = player cost * team matches left / 7 + points earned by player / 3.5
player adjusted trade value = player trade value * team matches left

If you don't want to wait for an update, just make a spreadsheet (for instance in Excel) and use these formulas. As of today all teams have one team match left in this round (hence: trade value = adjusted trade value).

In other news, I think up to this point the following team would have been one of the best (if not the best?) team this round without doing any trades whatsoever:

        Main | Anti
------------------------+-----------------------
cost player points | points player cost
------------------------+-----------------------
3 Hydra 27 | 2 TaeJa 9
6 JangBi 24 | 1 Bisu 2
5 ZerO 23 | 1 Classic 2
3 free 20 +-----------------------
4 Jaehoon 18 | 4 13
4 Speed 15 |
5 WJS 16 |
------------------------+-----------------------
30 143 -4 total: 139

To get this, for main team I simply went with the players that had the best overall positive trade value deltas maximizing the point score and satisfying the race conditional and max cost of 30 while trying to go with the team that currently has the best score. Anti team was simply taking out-of-action 9-pointer TaeJa and filling up to the minimally necessary cost of 13 while keeping the point score down. I wish I had known in advance that TaeJa (whom I picked as my captain) would be down for wrist treatment and that all those 3- and 4-cost players would score so many points. Oh well.

Yea, I agree that no one is likely to have time to implement this, but if you think about it, the one-time investment in coding such an automated parser may save time in the long run (assuming the FPL continues). It probably gets tedious entering the scores in manually. As for liquipedia, I know anyone can submit edits, but I think they still must be reviewed/approved before being published to the wiki, so I think the quality control is already in place.

Bummer picking Taeja for captain

The best anti team is Jaedong + two 3 pointers that don't score (Bisu + Best). And then trading Jaedong for Taeja after round 1.

The Jaedong + Taeja anti thing isn't even lucky or tricky. Jaedong's round 1 tournament schedule was published days in advance. Taeja's wrist problem was also known (his acupuncture tweet was front page on starcraft sub reddit, and the coach confirmed on Taeja's fan club thread).

edit: oops forgot Taeja didn't actually win any games Week 1 I think. So actually the trade isn't necessary to save you -1 tax. However since Taeja could've scored, the most informed decision would've guaranteed the 0 win points.

Dat best main team though. So hard to call, all 3-6 pointers. JangBi is probably the most predictable out of that, as rest of KHAN hasn't been performing and Jangbi is gonna see play every match. free and Hydra's results are both very surprising. Zero I can kinda see it. I knew speed was going to do well as he showed solid games in R1 and Team 8 is week, but Jaehoon winning so much is kind o_O.

Picking WJS was an obvious call, I knew they were going to be the strongest team in R2. However I personally didn't pick them as the $5 cost was a bit too high and I wanted to use that on players instead. Despite speed and jaehoon scoring well Team 8's overall result has been fairly average, although okay for costing only 2 points.

The best blind pick a SC2er could make is probably Hydra (I recalled him winning MSL around the time SC2 began), he's literally the only point earner on my fail team, aside from team EG-TL and a couple fillers like HuK, and Speed and Jaehoon on anti was pretty terrible, but even then, I'm in the positive at least -_- That's how sweet Hydra has been.

What's even more dumb was that Speed was on my team last round, and I just forgot who's who, and he did about as well last round, too.

Edit: Lol that post above me showing a theoretical best team shows how I shot my FPL in both feet.

Lol we have almost the same anti-team, a very good one, but unfortunately not picking these juiciy 3-4 pointers is too much of a detriment to enter top 100 .

I don't even think R1CH is the one who updates it, he CAN but he probably has other things he has to take care of, especially with TL Attack! today, he probably has to make sure it's good and ready to go, it's unbelievable how much prep work goes before putting out anything of production value, and any hiccups in the broadcast can cause numbers to drop because of frustrated customers who won't wait it out (look at gsl this season and their whole new broadcast system + twitch causing lag), so he's probably too busy anyways.

I think it was Fionn or monk who updated these stats anyways, so it's probably just tied to when they get a chance to.
I now have autographs of both BoxeR and NaDa. I can die happy. Lim Yo Hwan and Lee Yun Yeol FIGHTING forever!

I have to say, the all-kill round is certainly more exciting than the previous one, at least to me.

Just the opportunity for your player to get ten points in a single night, combined with unexpected players who have all-killed makes it just that more intense to watch.

I'm also more likely to watch all of the matches as the lineups aren't predetermined, so you never know when one of your players is going to be thrown out.

Hm, I wonder if the first matches of the next round (R3) will already be on Mon/Tue. That could be a challenge then with resetting the system and allowing everyone to make new teams within a few hours.

R1CH has been sick due to the stomach flu and won't be able to update till tomorrow.

In other news, as you may have heard, round 2 ends on Sunday and round 3 starts on Monday. Thus, we will close out round 3 immediately after Sunday's games and open up round 3. Unfortunately, this only gives everyone around 16 hours max to make teams. I'm posting this now so everyone can begin to prepare. Please spread the word.
