MajOr once again leaves ROOT, but this time as per the contract rules he is able to follow his dreams and join a Korean team, and what a team. KeSPA's 8th team. This is great for the foreigner scene, I'll draw a parallel to when Liquid first picked up Sea that was the opening door for KeSPA elephants to start joining foreign teams (e.g. Jaedong), I hope that MajOr opens the door for other foreigners into what was once impossible territory.

Juanito has been in ROOT 3 times! And this time, we don't know if we'll ever get him back! But he parts with us not only on good terms but with our full support. When he rejoined last time (a couple weeks ago!) we made an exception in his contract to be able to go to KeSPA teams, that being his life-long time dream, and we encouraged him and KeSPA to make this happen. Juanito will be missed but he will always be ROOT in our hearts, ROOT will always be the team he's been in the most times :D And we will ROOT for our chubbycakes in Korea, every match he plays. Needless to say, Juanito stays in the ROOT Secret Skype chat, and will forever be a part of our family. We'll continue to talk, learn and practice with him, argue balance and tell him he's a stubborn Mexican on a daily basis.
For people wondering, right after Juanito joined essentially, (sick timing) it was informed to us of KeSPA's interest in him. KeSPA representatives were very polite about the matter and I think that Team 8 will be a wonderful place for Juan to learn and achieve his dreams. We encouraged negotiations and quickly Juan and KeSPA came to an agreement. Juanito goes on to become the first Latino to EVER go to a KeSPA team, and at ROOT we are all very proud of him, so GOGO Juan!
Mexican player Juan Carlos Tena Lopez signs his Korean e-sports contract on the 2nd and joins Team 8. Juan Lopez was born on 1993 May 20th and competed in the foreign scene as a part of ROOT Gaming. He is a Terran player who uses the ID ‘MajOr’.
His recent accomplishments include participation in the ro32 of the World Championship Series (WCS) Grand Final, 1st place at the WCS Mexico Continental, and through his top ladder ranking in the Mexican ladder, he has established himself as a strong player.
Last November, MajOr, who had left ROOT Gaming, dreamed of joining a KeSPA team. However, after re-joining ROOT Gaming on December 24th, it seemed as MajOr’s Korean dreams might never be fulfilled. However, on the 2nd of January, KeSPA was able to successfully negotiate a contract with MajOr and announced that he would be joining Team 8. KeSPA director 서형석 (Hyung-Suk Suh) stated that “I heard that Mr. Lopez was looking to join a KeSPA team and contacted him as well as the teams to see if they’d be willing to take a Mexican player. During this process Mr. Lopez was tried out by Team 8 and after deliberation with the coaching staff, Team 8 decided to take him.”
As for the issue of re-joining ROOT Gaming, MajOr had announced that he was re-joining ROOT Gaming because of the long and potentially impossible process of joining a Korean team. However, his contract included a clause that stated that in the case of an offer by a KeSPA team, MajOr was free to go and pursue his dreams. Because of this clause, there were no contractual issues and there should be no issues with MajOr continuing his career in Korea. Below is an interview with the player regarding his thoughts on joining Team 8.

Hello, INVEN! I’m Juan Carlos Lopez and I’m a Terran player who goes by the ID, MajOr. I’m happy to have finally fulfilled my aspiration of joining a KeSPA team. Please root for me!
You left ROOT Gaming and joined a KeSPA team. Why did you make this decision?
When I first became a pro-gamer, the first goal that I set was to join a KeSPA team. Truthfully, even though I was a part of ROOT Gaming, I didn’t sign an official contract or anything. The reason I chose to be in ROOT was because of my friendship with the ROOT players. They’re all my close friends.
I always wanted to join a KeSPA team and told ROOT Gaming that if I ever got an offer from a KeSPA team, I’d be taking the offer. Getting the offer from Team 8 was really an honor and a great joy.
Just about 10 days ago on December 24th, there was an announcement on a foreign site (TEAMLIQUIDDDDDD) that you’d returned to ROOT. So there were a lot of fans who thought that you’d given up on Korea.
After being contacted by KeSPA, I tried out for Team 8. After trying out, I was waiting for a response, but the time just kept passing. Originally, I’d decided to retire if negotiations with KeSPA teams fell through.
However, I still had passion for the game and wanted to continue playing the game with my friends – So I re-joined ROOT Gaming. That’s why the announcement was made that ‘MajOr joins ROOT Gaming’ again. But fortunately for me, I was notified of my acceptance and with a happy heart, I was able to make the decision to go to Korea.
What were the reasons that you dreamed of joining a KeSPA team?
When I was playing Brood War, I was a big fan of Oz. We are both members of the ‘Gosi’ clan. I was watching one of Oz’s pro-league matches at the time and was amazed when he defeated Bisu. It was so cool.
I think it was after experiencing that moment that I thought to myself “Damn, I want to play on a KeSPA team too.” I’m so happy that such a passing thought has become a reality. Now I really want to be that type of player and experience those moments firsthand.
Of the members of the ‘Gosi’ clan, I see Flying and Sniper are playing. I still remember the other members too, but I’m not sure if they’re playing Starcraft 2.
To be honest, it looked like you changed teams a lot in a very short amount of time. What was going on?
It can definitely seem that way (laughs) because I’ve changed teams three times already. However, it definitely wasn’t because I couldn’t adjust to the teams or because there were any disagreements. I just want to clarify that there were legitimate reasons for all of the changes.
Firstly, the team I joined in 2011, Sixjax, disbanded. The team disbanded so I needed to find a new team and joined CheckSix. However, during this time, I entered talks with TSL, which I really wanted to join. I didn’t want there to be any issues regarding contractual complications so I had to leave CheckSix. But because of a lot of different issues, TSL didn’t work out. Likewise, although I really wanted to join LG-IM, it wasn’t meant to be.
My most recent team, ROOT Gaming, is the third team I joined. As I mentioned earlier, I joined ROOT to play with my friends, and already stated that if I would be leaving if I received an offer from a KeSPA team. Because of this, there weren’t any problems and I was able to join Team 8.
Even though Team 8 is the fourth team that I’m joining, there were reasons behind all of my decisions and I hope that I won’t simply be labeled as a team hopper.
Do you think there’ll be any difficulties in adjusting to Korean team life?
Honestly, I’ve already experienced Korean team life. I spent time at the GOM guest house and briefly at the TSL house. I had a really good experience and a lot of positive memories regarding Korea. The people are nice, polite, and generally seem like very good people. It’s also a very safe place so I think I’ll be able to rest easy. As for the cuisine, I really like kimchi-jjigae, bulgogi, kalbi, and all the other meat dishes (laughs).
If I had to pick a potential problem, it’d have to be that none of my teammates speak English very well so I think I might be lonely (laughs). However, I think we’ll be able to work out our communication issues one way or other. In the past, when I chatted with Jaehoon while playing a game, it didn’t seem too hard to understand each other. I’m glad that all of my teammates seem to know at least simple English phrases.
Oh, another thing I don’t really like is that there’re a lot of mosquitos (laughs). There really are a lot of mosquitos.
Is there a story behind how you became a Starcraft 2 pro-gamer?
I didn’t start playing in the beta or even when the game was first released. I got a pretty late start. The person who really opened my path to being a pro-gamer is definitely MVP. I started playing seriously after watching him play. I’m not sure why I chose to be Terran. Maybe there was some sort of subconscious draw towards it, but I think it might have just been the first race I saw. I don’t have any plans to change race in the future either.
You briefly changed your ID to ‘Princess’, ‘Kitty’, and ‘WinDy’. Was there a reason for using these names?
To be honest, they’re IDs of Brood War players. Even ‘MajOr’ is a Brood War player’s ID that I saw and liked. There was also a time when I used ‘Light’ because I was a fan of his.
From what I know, the player who used ‘Princess’ is actually a part of Team 8. It’s really amazing that and I’m really happy that I’m going to be able to live with these players. I just use IDs of players that I like. I used ‘Britney’ before too (laughs).

Is there a Korean player that you like? Maybe you really enjoy their play, or maybe a player that you’d want to make a role model?
Out of the current Starcraft 2 players, I really like Innovation. I think he’s really good and that I can learn a lot from him. I liked MVP but I know he’s having some problems with his wrist. I hope he recovers quickly and shows his old dominance again.
There isn’t one player I’d pick out as a role model. I’ll just take all of the best parts of all of the best players and make it my own. Out of all players of all time, my favorite is Light.
Now that you’ve joined a KeSPA team, you’ve managed to accomplish your first goal. What’s going to be your next goal?
I want to work hard and succeed. I want to try everything that I possibly can and also integrate with the team. Through my hard work, I hope to make not only foreign fans but fans in Korea as well. My goal is to capture and captivate the hearts of fans through good results.
You’re going to be going away from home. Don’t you think you’ll miss Mexico?
I’m not sure about anything else, but I’m going to miss my puppy (laughs). My dog, Prada, is just so cute. My parents are supportive of my decision to be a pro-gamer. Of course at first, they didn’t really like the idea but after becoming a pro, earning an income, and after seeing me treat gaming as a real job, they have become extremely supportive.
Do you have sports that you enjoy outside of games?
When I was young, I played soccer. You probably wouldn’t believe me looking at me now (laughs). I was even on a pro youth team as a forward. My ball handling wasn’t the greatest, but I was good at getting the ball in the net – let’s call it Chicarito style (laughs). Actually, I even went to the same school as him. Believe me!
I’ve gained a lot of weight now, but I was very athletic when I was young. To be honest, gaining weight has some to do with sitting and playing games all the time, but I also injured my knee. Since then, I wasn’t able to run around without severe pain so I gave up on sports. My knee is okay now so I’m planning on starting a consistent exercise program once I join the team in Korea. I’ve gotta work out to look good in the team uniform (laughs).
What game was most memorable since you became a professional?
The most memorable series was in the Teamliquid Proleague where I beat TSL’s Hyun 3 to 2. I want to be able to show lots of games like those.
What do you most want to learn by joining Team 8?
I want to continue to evolve and advance my game style. The reason I wanted to join a KeSPA team was because of this and because I like the system. Weaknesses can be fixed with help from the coaching staff. I heard that our coach was a kickboxer… I’ll work hard (laughs).
I’ve always preferred playing against Zerg and enjoy playing mech. I want to be able to develop and advance these aspects of my game even further. Please keep an eye on me!

Oh yes, thank god yes. This will turn Major into a tournament winning caliber player. This guy has the most insane mechanics in the west. If he can stay motivated I truly believe he can become one, if not the best Terran player.

Really amazing. Major can definitely solidify his top foreigner status with strict training and competition. Gonna be really looking forward to seeing his play improve.
I'm so happy to see Major achieve this. I do not in any way know him personally, but of all the pros he appears most dedicated to the game of Starcraft 2, and despite how you feel about his team history, his dedication cannot be denied.

Major is an interesting story because people say he's got the best mechanics outside of Korea but then you never see him at tournaments. He's like a dark horse...definitely hope to see him in SPL though and also hope to see T8 get a sponsor!

I am so so so so so so so happy for Juan ! I know this has been his life-long dream and he really wanted to do it. He is a very talented player and I think he didn't quite have the right chance to prove it despite always beating top players left and right. This is so sick. It's been a couple of years now that this has been his goal, even if sc2 wouldn't have happened I'm sure he would have made it over there with BW sooner or later anyway.
I'm happy for Major, I've enjoy him play and he have said himself he would benefit to be in a real team house environment. Will be fun to see if he can make a bigger splash in PL than the other foreigners.

I remember when QXC and many other foreigners said more than 8 hours of practice was counter productive and you get burned out. Major would probably laugh in their faces.
This is weird. I mean, it's cool that a KR PL team took a foreigner - and the world didn't even end! - but at the same time, he's going to get utterly rolled.
I remember when they first signed him to ROOT waaaay back when (before the first ROOT disband) and Catz had him on his stream. Major (I think he was Princess at that point?) was playing and had no idea what anything was and they were explaining to him what everything was and what to do (IE: That banshees could cloak like wraiths and whatnot). He was winning solely by having macro so much better than everyone he played, and they told him to do stuff and he just would do it. He built a wall of PFs across Shattered Temple and then went mech and nearly won because he could macro so well.

the thing is kespa salaries are so low except for star players, i dont think major is a big expense if any to them. they probably just pay his living expenses + mayyybe some small stipend.

Wasn't Ret and Nony just practice partners/staying at estro for a while when Artosis got them to Korea, and thus not actually played for a KeSPA team? None of them actually won a courage or got handed a license like IdrA, right?
Although, Nony actually got offered a spot on estro if I remember correcly, but turned it down and went back to US.
I haven't cared about Sc2 in a pretty decent amount of time, but this is HUGE. Never been much of a Maj0r fan (or a fan of Team 8) but this is an absolutely massive accomplishment that can't be understand. Huge congratulations to Princess for beginning to live out the dream he's had for so long, hope he has a lot of success and keeps practicing hard.

Thorzain goes up and down pretty hard. That show match was during one of Thorzain's slumps. He's got about as much chance of taking Thorzain in his current form as I do.

SK Telecom & KT like AT&T of Korea STX is a very big shipbuilding company. CJ is a topclass food & entertainment company in Korea WoongJin Group is big too. and,what need I say about Samsung?
The problem is not "no companies want be a sponsor",it's the companies who willing to support E-sports can't clear Kespa's standard. Only companies big enough can become proleague's sponsor.

Team 8 is growing, it's good! With BaBy and Speed they'll have solid Terran lineup. Anyway I think Major will be rather good practice partner than regular performer, much like KT's BarrackS. But if he can get good enough he could be sent out more, we'll see.

Semi-recently just Nony, Ret and IdrA. There were a fair few if you go back to the time of hexatron (~2004) like Nazgul, grrr, legionare, elky, assem.
AMD Dream Team actually, Hexatron was a bit later.
That and Legionnaire and Assem were on P.O.S. Assem would later join Hexatron. Those were the last few who actually made the A-Team rosters. The other guys were training for Courage and IdrA was a member of eSTRO and would later transfer over to the CJ b-team where he would make strides. Very unfortunate for NonY. eSTRO would have given him a pro gamer license if he stayed like IdrA.
There were a few other guys as well like Draco on OGN Sparkyz but that would never materialize because like NonY he had personal reasons for leaving. Then you have Pj and Lx on SKT1 but those were for Political reasons more than anything else. You never really got to see them play anywhere else. :/ Now we have guys from EG and I guess Juan fits in with T8 considering they need players and he really wants a KeSPA team for now lol.

Lucifron is really solid but I wouldn't expect Thorzain, who showed he can beat Polt and went 2-3 against Taeja, to be 4-0'd by two foreign terrans around the same time and asume that him not training TvT during that period wasn't true. Anyway, Major is indeed a good player but him going 4-0 against Thorzain during that circumstances is not indicative of much, especially since we rarely see him in tournaments to see how he compares to others.
Gratz. Major is given a chance that many other players can only dream of. Hopefully he will have grown up a bit and not switch team again shortly. He had such a wonderful chance, would be a shame to see it wasted. Good luck.

Also, this is pretty sick. This means a lot more than a simple player pickup - it shows KESPA's willingness to embrace the foreigner scene, most importantly.
Congrats I guess, but I just don't get the feeling it will last long (which is unfortunate because if he bails from a KeSPa team like he does other teams, I doubt he will ever be accepted back into one).

Watching Major play, it's hard to believe he's not Korean. His multitask is from another country. Making bl/infestor will never be as impressive as Major. The most deserving player for such a thing, in a relative sense to those that play their respective race. Fitting and long overdue. What a beast.

Team 8 is doing quite well in round 1 aren't they? They wouldn't just drop Team 8 because of financial troubles, isn't that what KeSPA is all about help fund the teams.

This is pretty big. I just hope he actually has some presence in the team and isn't Fenix, who well, we're not even really sure about his status other than he is on the IM team (but we never see him fielded in GSTL, not to my limited knowledge).

Don't take this as KeSPA being open to foreigners. Major was a special case of a foreigner willing to invest a lot of his time in Korea to make an impression on a KeSPA team. Most talented foreigners are content with making more salary, going to more tournaments, and practicing less.
Major could have cashed in on more foreign tournaments if he focused on them instead of trying out for Code B multiple times. He seriously took the hardest path.
Well he should be bind in a contract so him leaving to another team is unlikely, but since he wanted to join a kespa team the whole time, cant see him leaving anyway. lol

Hopefully it will work out better then when he was in TSL briefly, I don't think it is all that exciting since it's team 8 which is pretty bad most foreign teams would beat them in a team league, including root. But then I wasn't BW fan so I don't have the same bias towards Kespa teams as some.
There can't be drama in the korean house, since they can't communicate and all he does is practice, so the only thing they want him to do. Hope it doesn't end within a few weeks/months.

Well, Team 8 isnt doing so bad as you said. They are 3-4 as EG-TL and lost to EG-TL in ace match :-D And we can think of EG-TL as better than every foreign team, i think it is.

as the perhaps (expect baby) weakest kespa team its good for both sites. also he can learn alot from TY (aka baby) and i still think he has alot to offer for a kespa teams in regards of tactics etc he knew (especially about foreign guys in tleg ^^)
also btw does anybody know what has happened to fenix? He is still on IM, is he? I mean I havn't seen him in any tournaments for ages. I guess the last time I have actually seen him was after his gstl match back in the day, after which he was picked up by IM, but his LP doesn't say much as well, does it?

Last time I heard something he is still on IM, but he can't really practice more than a couple of hours per day because of wrist problems. It's possible that he will return for Hots though.
Really happy to see that Major was able to join a KeSPA team. Hopefully the different environment will suit him and he can continue to improve.

Congratz to him, but i don't really see this working. Many foreigners tried this before in bw and failed, not only cause there tough practice shedule, but also cause of the language barrier. Hope he can make the best out of it

Sure thing I do not mind finding the real facts. This is what he accomplished in at least Two Years of playing professionally which is a very long time. Not to mention the sheer amount of Dreamhacks,MLGs,Blizzard Cups,Homestory,Intel Extreme Masters and other premier tournaments that have taken place in Two Years time. I am not including the beta in which has had its own tournaments as well. In the two years that SC2 has been out here is what he accomplished as per liquidpedia.
These tournaments did not have anybody of note at the current time playing in them. Maybe Fenix but that is all who stand out to me. Also for the StarLeague he faced some medicore players as well and in Qualifier #6 all he had to face is Welmu in which he lost. Qualifier #10 was a joke as all he had to play was Lucifron,Vibe,Fraer.
He's always been an in incredible foreign terran.... didn't he train in Korea? Pretty sure he was highest ranked terran in one or two WCS as well. Goodluck Maj0r!

He's not representing anybody other than himself (and now his new team).
As for all the other good foreigners, how many do you think would accept the living conditions and daily schedules of a Kespa team and give up the comfort and benefits of the NA/EU scene? Maybe Naniwa, I can't think of anybody else that would. And I'm sure there are many who would condescendingly say that being represented by Naniwa is also "embarrassing".
Kespa teams' doors have always been open to everyone, including foreigners, so this isn't anything new. It's just that many foreigners have historically preferred leaving through those doors than coming in and trying to compete.

No way he can be ACE, forget about other players, Baby is far better than him. And other players on Team 8 is actually pretty good, not like most people think. If he gets sent out once every week, that will be a good success for him.
Major has evolved so much since the first time I saw him in TSL2, it's amazing to see the kind of man he's become. And now Artosis should start his series again!

BaBy and Jaehoon are better than him, maybe Speed too. I don't think MajOr can replace BaBy as the ace of T8.

Paragraph 1 under Wings Of Liberty topic. Unless you are calling people who wrote this liquidpedia liars, I do think there has been enough "accidents". Also even when SixJax was formed Artosis comments on his behaviorally habits being extremely poor. So it is widely known that he lacks maturity and what it takes to have a professional attitude.
There is a link to where he was smurfing in a tourney and trying to cheat the system. So I would stretch it far enough to say he is even willing to break the rules in order to seek his own personal goals. He is a very shady, and a disrespectful character to have within the SC2 Pro scene.
About the comment about Kespa opening its doors to foreigners that is true. My point is that there have been a very small amount of foreigners that they have accepted. So receiving the chance or opportunity to represent all the foreigners is huge but its a shame that we got someone who acts in manners. He was proven to smurf tournies,disrespect players, and in general be a bad character. Just hope that he does not ruin the image of foreigners all together as it is like finding a needle in a haystack getting into Kespa.

Sure thing I do not mind finding the real facts. This is what he accomplished in at least Two Years of playing professionally which is a very long time. Not to mention the sheer amount of Dreamhacks,MLGs,Blizzard Cups,Homestory,Intel Extreme Masters and other premier tournaments that have taken place in Two Years time. I am not including the beta in which has had its own tournaments as well. In the two years that SC2 has been out here is what he accomplished as per liquidpedia.
These tournaments did not have anybody of note at the current time playing in them. Maybe Fenix but that is all who stand out to me. Also for the StarLeague he faced some medicore players as well and in Qualifier #6 all he had to face is Welmu in which he lost. Qualifier #10 was a joke as all he had to play was Lucifron,Vibe,Fraer.

It's true that Major's behavior has not been ideal in the past, but the fact that Root was willing to take him back AGAIN is a good sign. They trusted him enough to put their name on his t-shirt and that tells me he's probably not the same guy anymore.

Because his practice regimens cant compare with any other player? When you get screwed from 2 teams you can practice as much as you want and still you wont be able to show good results because you had to take care of ur food and surviving. There isnt any other foreigner that has better practice regimens if they have everything covered than Major, and it is also a good move by kespa to reach the foreigners. Proleague is all about practice and preparations and not soloing, but teamwork and practice under strict rules, which he himself stated in an interview you should read here on TL that its something he favors and its better for him.

I am not questioning his intelligence at all but I do put into question his attitude. Time and time again he has shown little to no change in his attitude. How he practices etc.. etc.. has no factor in how he has acted. I would side with you if it was just a few spread out cases that he lost it due to frustration/lack of results. Unfortunately he has kept this attitude throughout his professional career as a SC2 player.

Or because he gets kicked or something. KeSPA won't let Team 8 disband before this Season of PL is over, so MajOr being kicked is the only scenario I can imagine right now.
It seems that this is the last chance for Major. If he messes this up, he will ruin his image forever. His tournament results are lackluster, and his attitude has turned off many fans. However, it seems there is more to him that meets the eye of the fan as members of the community seem to see something in him. This is his last chance for that something to bloom into fruition or I feel he will no longer have a place in the SC2 community.

He's easily top 5 foreign Terran and has more (or at least equal) talent/stylistic potential than pretty much any foreign Terran I can think of. When he wins, he wins with crushing efficiency. And when you hear him do analysis, it's clear he understands this game on an incredibly deep level. The thing about Major is that he pretty obviously hasn't fulfilled his potential, whereas other foreign Terrans seem to have almost "capped out" at a certain level. Hopefully Major is able to harness this potential with the KeSPA training environment.

At first I was really sad that Juan is leaving ROOT. But then I thought about it, and I am 'MaJoR'ly proud of ROOT's 'Princess'. Juan is making his dream happen and I'm sure he will become a 'GosITerran' in Korea. It may be cold and 'WinDy' but he will be working his ass off to be one of the best 'Terran's in the world. He was just a 'Kitty' when he joined ROOT, but he grew into a star like 'Britney' and I will always have that 'Memory'. He's not the Mexican Korea deserves, but he is damn sure the Mexican that Korea is going to get. I want to wish Juan the best of luck in Korea and I hope that he has a great time.
Nice, good job Princess. Team 8 got really through some changes; from "Team Jaedong & Baby" to "Team Baby" and now to "Team Juanito and Baby". An ace match vs Bogus would be relly cool to see! But which of his nicknames (Major, Terran, Princess, Windy, Anna Prosser etc...) will he use?
Are you kidding me, of course this will open the foreigner market. Many foreigners simply lack the know how on other servers and with proper training can be on the world stages in no time. Very happy for Major.

The problem with joining team 8 is that Baby and Speed are miles ahead of him and he has to practise his ass of if he wants to make it in to Proleague unless the coach wants to send 3 terrans in a match and i don't know if thats doable on the curent maps . Otherwise i could see him send over Terminator and Alone if he does better then them in practice .
There are a lot of posts in here saying MajOr's not that good, or asking why would a KeSPA team spend money on him. I feel like people have forgotten that MajOr was essentially one of TSL's top practice players while he was living in that house. He and Hyun were buddies and played together a ton right before Hyun really broke out as a top player. He was clearly well respected by the TSL players and that definitely means a lot in terms of his value as a teammate - regardless of his results and role on Team 8.
Kinda think they wanted him as a practice partner and we wont even see him in an actual match. Also he probably only gets to stay at the house for free and doesn't receive any money (considering Team 8 is known to be a poor team without any major sponsor) If this was his dream i guess then its fine for him but otherwise i would say he gets the short end.

Nah, not these days. I used to really dislike him, but seeing how hard he's been working lately, he's definitely a changed man. He might've been pretty BM in the past, but that's changed now, at least that's the impression I've been getting-
Mexican player Juan Carlos Tena Lopez signs his Korean e-sports contract on the 2nd and joins Team 8. Juan Lopez was born on 1993 May 20th and competed in the foreign scene as a part of ROOT Gaming. He is a Terran player who uses the ID ‘MajOr’.
His recent accomplishments include participation in the ro32 of the World Championship Series (WCS) Grand Final, 1st place at the WCS Mexico Continental, and through his top ladder ranking in the Mexican ladder, he has established himself as a strong player.
Last November, MajOr, who had left ROOT Gaming, dreamed of joining a KeSPA team. However, after re-joining ROOT Gaming on December 24th, it seemed as MajOr’s Korean dreams might never be fulfilled. However, on the 2nd of January, KeSPA was able to successfully negotiate a contract with MajOr and announced that he would be joining Team 8. KeSPA director 서형석 (Hyung-Suk Suh) stated that “I heard that Mr. Lopez was looking to join a KeSPA team and contacted him as well as the teams to see if they’d be willing to take a Mexican player. During this process Mr. Lopez was tried out by Team 8 and after deliberation with the coaching staff, Team 8 decided to take him.”
As for the issue of re-joining ROOT Gaming, MajOr had announced that he was re-joining ROOT Gaming because of the long and potentially impossible process of joining a Korean team. However, his contract included a clause that stated that in the case of an offer by a KeSPA team, MajOr was free to go and pursue his dreams. Because of this clause, there were no contractual issues and there should be no issues with MajOr continuing his career in Korea. Below is an interview with the player regarding his thoughts on joining Team 8.

Hello, INVEN! I’m Juan Carlos Lopez and I’m a Terran player who goes by the ID, MajOr. I’m happy to have finally fulfilled my aspiration of joining a KeSPA team. Please root for me!
You left ROOT Gaming and joined a KeSPA team. Why did you make this decision?
When I first became a pro-gamer, the first goal that I set was to join a KeSPA team. Truthfully, even though I was a part of ROOT Gaming, I didn’t sign an official contract or anything. The reason I chose to be in ROOT was because of my friendship with the ROOT players. They’re all my close friends.
I always wanted to join a KeSPA team and told ROOT Gaming that if I ever got an offer from a KeSPA team, I’d be taking the offer. Getting the offer from Team 8 was really an honor and a great joy.
Just about 10 days ago on December 24th, there was an announcement on a foreign site (TEAMLIQUIDDDDDD) that you’d returned to ROOT. So there were a lot of fans who thought that you’d given up on Korea.
After being contacted by KeSPA, I tried out for Team 8. After trying out, I was waiting for a response, but the time just kept passing. Originally, I’d decided to retire if negotiations with KeSPA teams fell through.
However, I still had passion for the game and wanted to continue playing the game with my friends – So I re-joined ROOT Gaming. That’s why the announcement was made that ‘MajOr joins ROOT Gaming’ again. But fortunately for me, I was notified of my acceptance and with a happy heart, I was able to make the decision to go to Korea.
What were the reasons that you dreamed of joining a KeSPA team?
When I was playing Brood War, I was a big fan of Oz. We are both members of the ‘Gosi’ clan. I was watching one of Oz’s pro-league matches at the time and was amazed when he defeated Bisu. It was so cool.
I think it was after experiencing that moment that I thought to myself “Damn, I want to play on a KeSPA team too.” I’m so happy that such a passing thought has become a reality. Now I really want to be that type of player and experience those moments firsthand.
Of the members of the ‘Gosi’ clan, I see Flying and Sniper are playing. I still remember the other members too, but I’m not sure if they’re playing Starcraft 2.
To be honest, it looked like you changed teams a lot in a very short amount of time. What was going on?
It can definitely seem that way (laughs) because I’ve changed teams three times already. However, it definitely wasn’t because I couldn’t adjust to the teams or because there were any disagreements. I just want to clarify that there were legitimate reasons for all of the changes.
Firstly, the team I joined in 2011, Sixjax, disbanded. The team disbanded so I needed to find a new team and joined CheckSix. However, during this time, I entered talks with TSL, which I really wanted to join. I didn’t want there to be any issues regarding contractual complications so I had to leave CheckSix. But because of a lot of different issues, TSL didn’t work out. Likewise, although I really wanted to join LG-IM, it wasn’t meant to be.
My most recent team, ROOT Gaming, is the third team I joined. As I mentioned earlier, I joined ROOT to play with my friends, and already stated that if I would be leaving if I received an offer from a KeSPA team. Because of this, there weren’t any problems and I was able to join Team 8.
Even though Team 8 is the fourth team that I’m joining, there were reasons behind all of my decisions and I hope that I won’t simply be labeled as a team hopper.
Do you think there’ll be any difficulties in adjusting to Korean team life?
Honestly, I’ve already experienced Korean team life. I spent time at the GOM guest house and briefly at the TSL house. I had a really good experience and a lot of positive memories regarding Korea. The people are nice, polite, and generally seem like very good people. It’s also a very safe place so I think I’ll be able to rest easy. As for the cuisine, I really like kimchi-jjigae, bulgogi, kalbi, and all the other meat dishes (laughs).
If I had to pick a potential problem, it’d have to be that none of my teammates speak English very well so I think I might be lonely (laughs). However, I think we’ll be able to work out our communication issues one way or other. In the past, when I chatted with Jaehoon while playing a game, it didn’t seem too hard to understand each other. I’m glad that all of my teammates seem to know at least simple English phrases.
Oh, another thing I don’t really like is that there’re a lot of mosquitos (laughs). There really are a lot of mosquitos.
Is there a story behind how you became a Starcraft 2 pro-gamer?
I didn’t start playing in the beta or even when the game was first released. I got a pretty late start. The person who really opened my path to being a pro-gamer is definitely MVP. I started playing seriously after watching him play. I’m not sure why I chose to be Terran. Maybe there was some sort of subconscious draw towards it, but I think it might have just been the first race I saw. I don’t have any plans to change race in the future either.
You briefly changed your ID to ‘Princess’, ‘Kitty’, and ‘WinDy’. Was there a reason for using these names?
To be honest, they’re IDs of Brood War players. Even ‘MajOr’ is a Brood War player’s ID that I saw and liked. There was also a time when I used ‘Light’ because I was a fan of his.
From what I know, the player who used ‘Princess’ is actually a part of Team 8. It’s really amazing that and I’m really happy that I’m going to be able to live with these players. I just use IDs of players that I like. I used ‘Britney’ before too (laughs).

Is there a Korean player that you like? Maybe you really enjoy their play, or maybe a player that you’d want to make a role model?
Out of the current Starcraft 2 players, I really like Innovation. I think he’s really good and that I can learn a lot from him. I liked MVP but I know he’s having some problems with his wrist. I hope he recovers quickly and shows his old dominance again.
There isn’t one player I’d pick out as a role model. I’ll just take all of the best parts of all of the best players and make it my own. Out of all players of all time, my favorite is Light.
Now that you’ve joined a KeSPA team, you’ve managed to accomplish your first goal. What’s going to be your next goal?
I want to work hard and succeed. I want to try everything that I possibly can and also integrate with the team. Through my hard work, I hope to make not only foreign fans but fans in Korea as well. My goal is to capture and captivate the hearts of fans through good results.
You’re going to be going away from home. Don’t you think you’ll miss Mexico?
I’m not sure about anything else, but I’m going to miss my puppy (laughs). My dog, Prada, is just so cute. My parents are supportive of my decision to be a pro-gamer. Of course at first, they didn’t really like the idea but after becoming a pro, earning an income, and after seeing me treat gaming as a real job, they have become extremely supportive.
Do you have sports that you enjoy outside of games?
When I was young, I played soccer. You probably wouldn’t believe me looking at me now (laughs). I was even on a pro youth team as a forward. My ball handling wasn’t the greatest, but I was good at getting the ball in the net – let’s call it Chicarito style (laughs). Actually, I even went to the same school as him. Believe me!
I’ve gained a lot of weight now, but I was very athletic when I was young. To be honest, gaining weight has some to do with sitting and playing games all the time, but I also injured my knee. Since then, I wasn’t able to run around without severe pain so I gave up on sports. My knee is okay now so I’m planning on starting a consistent exercise program once I join the team in Korea. I’ve gotta work out to look good in the team uniform (laughs).
What game was most memorable since you became a professional?
The most memorable series was in the Teamliquid Proleague where I beat TSL’s Hyun 3 to 2. I want to be able to show lots of games like those.
What do you most want to learn by joining Team 8?
I want to continue to evolve and advance my game style. The reason I wanted to join a KeSPA team was because of this and because I like the system. Weaknesses can be fixed with help from the coaching staff. I heard that our coach was a kickboxer… I’ll work hard (laughs).
I’ve always preferred playing against Zerg and enjoy playing mech. I want to be able to develop and advance these aspects of my game even further. Please keep an eye on me!

Its possible (depending on how long discussions between ROOT and T8 have been) that they put him on the roster for round 2 assuming they'd get him, and knowing that rosters wouldn't be released until a time when they could announce it.

I feel kinda embarrassed that somebody like him will representing all of the foreigners for us. He is known for his sour attitude and flakiness. Also I cannot remember the last time he was a highlight in a premier tournament either. Then yet again the good foreigners like a Naniwa or a Staphano are already signed. So with that kind of thinking there is not much to pick from. Although it is good that Kespa is now opening its doors to the rest of the world. Not really, no. Major's got a checkered past but over the course of 2012 he more or less kept his head down and worked constantly at breaking into GSL and the Korean scene in general.
Above all else, I'm glad that ROOT had the courtesy to put in that exception clause into their contract with Major. They knew that his dream was to join a KeSPA team and don't even care about the other contractual nonsense. That's a meaning of the word team outside of norm. They're doing things for the greater good of the specific player, not specifically the team.

They're sort of desperate at the moment because they don't really have many players to fall back on to begin with. If Juan was going to join any team in the first place people would look towards BoxeR's open promotion, like he did with SlayerS and Team 8. I really don't see any interest coming from any other KeSPA party.
That translated interview is great. MajOr's history is quite interesting - I never would've guessed he was an excellent fooball/soccer player, it's a shame his knee blew out.
Also it's not impossible territory. Idra was part of CJ Entus. The question is: will MajOR get stuck on the B-team? That would royally suck. Hope that's not the case though.
Good! Finally MajOr joined a KeSPA team. Too bad it was KeSPA's Team 8... Hope they get more popular and get some big name sponsors. I really didn't think that Team 8 would be successful, especially with Jaedong leaving like a pansy -_- (I'm a huge JD fan), but they've been getting stronger. Go MajOr! Go eSports!

Mexican player Juan Carlos Tena Lopez signs his Korean e-sports contract on the 2nd and joins Team 8. Juan Lopez was born on 1993 May 20th and competed in the foreign scene as a part of ROOT Gaming. He is a Terran player who uses the ID ‘MajOr’.
His recent accomplishments include participation in the ro32 of the World Championship Series (WCS) Grand Final, 1st place at the WCS Mexico Continental, and through his top ladder ranking in the Mexican ladder, he has established himself as a strong player.
Last November, MajOr, who had left ROOT Gaming, dreamed of joining a KeSPA team. However, after re-joining ROOT Gaming on December 24th, it seemed as MajOr’s Korean dreams might never be fulfilled. However, on the 2nd of January, KeSPA was able to successfully negotiate a contract with MajOr and announced that he would be joining Team 8. KeSPA director 서형석 (Hyung-Suk Suh) stated that “I heard that Mr. Lopez was looking to join a KeSPA team and contacted him as well as the teams to see if they’d be willing to take a Mexican player. During this process Mr. Lopez was tried out by Team 8 and after deliberation with the coaching staff, Team 8 decided to take him.”
As for the issue of re-joining ROOT Gaming, MajOr had announced that he was re-joining ROOT Gaming because of the long and potentially impossible process of joining a Korean team. However, his contract included a clause that stated that in the case of an offer by a KeSPA team, MajOr was free to go and pursue his dreams. Because of this clause, there were no contractual issues and there should be no issues with MajOr continuing his career in Korea. Below is an interview with the player regarding his thoughts on joining Team 8.

Hello, INVEN! I’m Juan Carlos Lopez and I’m a Terran player who goes by the ID, MajOr. I’m happy to have finally fulfilled my aspiration of joining a KeSPA team. Please root for me!
You left ROOT Gaming and joined a KeSPA team. Why did you make this decision?
When I first became a pro-gamer, the first goal that I set was to join a KeSPA team. Truthfully, even though I was a part of ROOT Gaming, I didn’t sign an official contract or anything. The reason I chose to be in ROOT was because of my friendship with the ROOT players. They’re all my close friends.
I always wanted to join a KeSPA team and told ROOT Gaming that if I ever got an offer from a KeSPA team, I’d be taking the offer. Getting the offer from Team 8 was really an honor and a great joy.
Just about 10 days ago on December 24th, there was an announcement on a foreign site (TEAMLIQUIDDDDDD) that you’d returned to ROOT. So there were a lot of fans who thought that you’d given up on Korea.
After being contacted by KeSPA, I tried out for Team 8. After trying out, I was waiting for a response, but the time just kept passing. Originally, I’d decided to retire if negotiations with KeSPA teams fell through.
However, I still had passion for the game and wanted to continue playing the game with my friends – So I re-joined ROOT Gaming. That’s why the announcement was made that ‘MajOr joins ROOT Gaming’ again. But fortunately for me, I was notified of my acceptance and with a happy heart, I was able to make the decision to go to Korea.
What were the reasons that you dreamed of joining a KeSPA team?
When I was playing Brood War, I was a big fan of Oz. We are both members of the ‘Gosi’ clan. I was watching one of Oz’s pro-league matches at the time and was amazed when he defeated Bisu. It was so cool.
I think it was after experiencing that moment that I thought to myself “Damn, I want to play on a KeSPA team too.” I’m so happy that such a passing thought has become a reality. Now I really want to be that type of player and experience those moments firsthand.
Of the members of the ‘Gosi’ clan, I see Flying and Sniper are playing. I still remember the other members too, but I’m not sure if they’re playing Starcraft 2.
To be honest, it looked like you changed teams a lot in a very short amount of time. What was going on?
It can definitely seem that way (laughs) because I’ve changed teams three times already. However, it definitely wasn’t because I couldn’t adjust to the teams or because there were any disagreements. I just want to clarify that there were legitimate reasons for all of the changes.
Firstly, the team I joined in 2011, Sixjax, disbanded. The team disbanded so I needed to find a new team and joined CheckSix. However, during this time, I entered talks with TSL, which I really wanted to join. I didn’t want there to be any issues regarding contractual complications so I had to leave CheckSix. But because of a lot of different issues, TSL didn’t work out. Likewise, although I really wanted to join LG-IM, it wasn’t meant to be.
My most recent team, ROOT Gaming, is the third team I joined. As I mentioned earlier, I joined ROOT to play with my friends, and already stated that if I would be leaving if I received an offer from a KeSPA team. Because of this, there weren’t any problems and I was able to join Team 8.
Even though Team 8 is the fourth team that I’m joining, there were reasons behind all of my decisions and I hope that I won’t simply be labeled as a team hopper.
Do you think there’ll be any difficulties in adjusting to Korean team life?
Honestly, I’ve already experienced Korean team life. I spent time at the GOM guest house and briefly at the TSL house. I had a really good experience and a lot of positive memories regarding Korea. The people are nice, polite, and generally seem like very good people. It’s also a very safe place so I think I’ll be able to rest easy. As for the cuisine, I really like kimchi-jjigae, bulgogi, kalbi, and all the other meat dishes (laughs).
If I had to pick a potential problem, it’d have to be that none of my teammates speak English very well so I think I might be lonely (laughs). However, I think we’ll be able to work out our communication issues one way or other. In the past, when I chatted with Jaehoon while playing a game, it didn’t seem too hard to understand each other. I’m glad that all of my teammates seem to know at least simple English phrases.
Oh, another thing I don’t really like is that there’re a lot of mosquitos (laughs). There really are a lot of mosquitos.
Is there a story behind how you became a Starcraft 2 pro-gamer?
I didn’t start playing in the beta or even when the game was first released. I got a pretty late start. The person who really opened my path to being a pro-gamer is definitely MVP. I started playing seriously after watching him play. I’m not sure why I chose to be Terran. Maybe there was some sort of subconscious draw towards it, but I think it might have just been the first race I saw. I don’t have any plans to change race in the future either.
You briefly changed your ID to ‘Princess’, ‘Kitty’, and ‘WinDy’. Was there a reason for using these names?
To be honest, they’re IDs of Brood War players. Even ‘MajOr’ is a Brood War player’s ID that I saw and liked. There was also a time when I used ‘Light’ because I was a fan of his.
From what I know, the player who used ‘Princess’ is actually a part of Team 8. It’s really amazing that and I’m really happy that I’m going to be able to live with these players. I just use IDs of players that I like. I used ‘Britney’ before too (laughs).

Is there a Korean player that you like? Maybe you really enjoy their play, or maybe a player that you’d want to make a role model?
Out of the current Starcraft 2 players, I really like Innovation. I think he’s really good and that I can learn a lot from him. I liked MVP but I know he’s having some problems with his wrist. I hope he recovers quickly and shows his old dominance again.
There isn’t one player I’d pick out as a role model. I’ll just take all of the best parts of all of the best players and make it my own. Out of all players of all time, my favorite is Light.
Now that you’ve joined a KeSPA team, you’ve managed to accomplish your first goal. What’s going to be your next goal?
I want to work hard and succeed. I want to try everything that I possibly can and also integrate with the team. Through my hard work, I hope to make not only foreign fans but fans in Korea as well. My goal is to capture and captivate the hearts of fans through good results.
You’re going to be going away from home. Don’t you think you’ll miss Mexico?
I’m not sure about anything else, but I’m going to miss my puppy (laughs). My dog, Prada, is just so cute. My parents are supportive of my decision to be a pro-gamer. Of course at first, they didn’t really like the idea but after becoming a pro, earning an income, and after seeing me treat gaming as a real job, they have become extremely supportive.
Do you have sports that you enjoy outside of games?
When I was young, I played soccer. You probably wouldn’t believe me looking at me now (laughs). I was even on a pro youth team as a forward. My ball handling wasn’t the greatest, but I was good at getting the ball in the net – let’s call it Chicarito style (laughs). Actually, I even went to the same school as him. Believe me!
I’ve gained a lot of weight now, but I was very athletic when I was young. To be honest, gaining weight has some to do with sitting and playing games all the time, but I also injured my knee. Since then, I wasn’t able to run around without severe pain so I gave up on sports. My knee is okay now so I’m planning on starting a consistent exercise program once I join the team in Korea. I’ve gotta work out to look good in the team uniform (laughs).
What game was most memorable since you became a professional?
The most memorable series was in the Teamliquid Proleague where I beat TSL’s Hyun 3 to 2. I want to be able to show lots of games like those.
What do you most want to learn by joining Team 8?
I want to continue to evolve and advance my game style. The reason I wanted to join a KeSPA team was because of this and because I like the system. Weaknesses can be fixed with help from the coaching staff. I heard that our coach was a kickboxer… I’ll work hard (laughs).
I’ve always preferred playing against Zerg and enjoy playing mech. I want to be able to develop and advance these aspects of my game even further. Please keep an eye on me!

Proleague format really give an incentive for teams to seek for a stable roster of solid players instead of only one or two stars like the all kill format of most other team leagues does. And contrary to the ESF scene where the solo tournament is the most important, in the Kespa scene, the most important thing for the teams is doing well in proleague.
And Major was personally interested in joining a Kespa team, they didn't have to go search for him.

This is Team 8 we're talking about. They ARE a B-team. Well, except for Baby, I guess.
Major will do better than anyone expects if they actually play him. As long as he is not nervous, he has an amazing understanding of SC2. I can see him getting a some wins vs people who haven't been playing that long. He's on my fantasy team!!!

This I feel is a major major point. It's not just the talent of the player, but also whether they are willing to make the move to a KeSPA teamhouse. You're going to be alone training day and night in a foreign country. Sure its not the worst thing in the world, but to leave behind what you're familiar with isn't a change that most players can just do. Also, from a player perspective you're going to isolate yourself from the rest of the scene. Tickets from Korea are expensive, and its going to be difficult for your team to justify the cost to let you attend tournaments if you can't consistently get top 4, a difficulty regardless of how good the player is.
This is great news for everyone in the foreigner scene I'm so happy that Juanito gets to join team 8 can't wait to see him representing in the proleague :D
MajOr is probably the best foreigner that has a chance to fit in perfectly into the korean pro life. i mean, theres a reason we all pay attention to him and his dream. best of luck MajOR! VIVA LA RAZAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

What tournament are you referring to? While the TL Koreans have a good record against ROOT, if I recall correctly ROOT > EG 3:2 in the most recent MCSL and majOr generally only loses to Koreans and really good Europeans.

MajOr hasn't been in any area to really show huge results... He always does well in everything he does. He almost never flat out loses. He's known for being extremely talented and in need of a big break. He qualified for everything he participated in recently, but was unable to attend due to sickness. He joined and left spotty teams that weren't helpful to him at all. ROOT was cool, but nobody from ROOT is going to be "the next huge thing". You have the absolute wrong idea of MajOr and it's sad that you're even expressing your opinions as if they represent the majority of foreigners. He was BM in BW, and he still does things his way and messes around a bit, but when it comes to the game, he has a passion for being AWESOME. He doesn't care about winning or about money, he cares about playing at the highest level possible.
SOOOOO stoked for him. I remember him talking about wanting to join a Korean team. Said it was his dream. At the time I was thinging to myself: "You deserve it. You need it. Maj0r Fighting!" and now it has come true. So happy for him, I am. #yoda

Saying that he was bad manner in brood is an extremely inaccurate statement. I will guide you to my post on page 21 on this thread. I feel kinda embarrassed that somebody like him will representing all of the foreigners for us. He is known for his sour attitude and flakiness. Also I cannot remember the last time he was a highlight in a premier tournament either. Then yet again the good foreigners like a Naniwa or a Staphano are already signed. So with that kind of thinking there is not much to pick from. Although it is good that Kespa is now opening its doors to the rest of the world. I think this might be a PR play rather than accepting actual talent.
MajOr hasn't been in any area to really show huge results... He always does well in everything he does. He almost never flat out loses. He's known for being extremely talented and in need of a big break. He qualified for everything he participated in recently, but was unable to attend due to sickness. He joined and left spotty teams that weren't helpful to him at all. ROOT was cool, but nobody from ROOT is going to be "the next huge thing". You have the absolute wrong idea of MajOr and it's sad that you're even expressing your opinions as if they represent the majority of foreigners. He was BM in BW, and he still does things his way and messes around a bit, but when it comes to the game, he has a passion for being AWESOME. He doesn't care about winning or about money, he cares about playing at the highest level possible.

MajOr certainly does have kind of a rough reputation from the past, but over the past few months he really seems to have matured. He was a good teammate to the ROOT guys, he made appearances on SoTG, and DeMuslim had him on his stream, and in each of these cases he came across as more mature, knowledgeable about Starcraft, and a funny genial guy. The TSL guys seemed to really like him a lot as well when he was in Korea. Whenever he plays Hyun they always talk with each other when the game starts, and it's clear Hyun likes/respects MajOr.
Maybe you're right and he's bad to core or can never make up for his past mistakes, but the guy started his career when he was around 16 years old. I like to think people can change/grow up, and from what I've seen of MajOr recently he deserves a chance to represent foreigners and participate in this tournament. He doesn't even need to participate either - he was clearly a valued practice partner on TSL, and he may well work in this function for Team 8.
His reputation has been blown way out of proportion, as has been the case for many other people as well. If you really want to go digging into how people behaved and what they were saying during the Brood War days, I don't think you'll find many players that will come out clean, especially by some of the ridiculous standards people hold them up to these days.
I don't think that there will be many other foreigners who will follow MajOr onto KeSPA teams. KeSPA teams are only going to sign a player who is as talented as MajOr is and almost every foreigner of his skill already has a contract with a big team. Joining a Korean team would be a big risk for any of those players because they would be delving into a completely new environment where they don't speak the language. Meanwhile, they have a similar salary that is not nearly as dependent on results as it would be on a KeSPA team. The real difference is that most top tier foreigners don't have the same drive and motivation as MajOr. This is MajOr's dream, what he's been working for since before StarCraft 2.
But all that being said, I hope the best for Juan. Maybe he'll do better with a Korean team since they won't be able to understand whatever he's saying and for the most part only know him for his skill and dedication.

You sir are far too zealous and not nearly realistic enough. So you hate MajOr, but that doesn't make your immense hatred towards him valid. He was bad mannered as many pros are. He's done some things that no pro player should ever do, just like a lot of pros have. Him joining a KeSPA team (where they have people to train their players on how to act) can only help the great progress he's already made with his personality. Don't make me read another post about how my post was right but wrong due to technicality.

You need to look at MajOr for what and who he is, and that's a semi BM player who wants to be the best Starcraft player of all time. A player who has cleaned up his act a little bit in order to achieve his dreams, and who won't stop at that and will continue to work his hardest to achieve the very best he can possibly achieve.
You should look at MajOr for who he is, otherwise you just put him in a group with a huge amount of players whom you hypocritically root for. Nobody is telling you to root for MajOr, but stop speaking so worthlessly.

MajOr is a 19-year old with as few manners as tournament wins and a longer list of teams he's hopped than a list of fans.

It doesn't even matter if it was yesterday, smurfing in online tournaments is a petty transgression at best, and it boggles my mind that people care enough to even remember that, let alone try to present it as some sort of a cardinal sin. As for the teams, that's between the team and the player.
The only team drama he was involved with was sixjax, and that was a pretty shady organization to begin with.
