Proleague belongs to Kespa, OSL and MSL belonged to the broadcast companies OnGameNet and MBCGame.

And why is IGN even involved if proleague belongs to kespa?

I'm pretty sure looking at esportstv youtube page there will be a korean stream on them but I hope its not only for koreans because that would really suck.

Huge chance for someone to step in and commentate on their stream (i.e what Sayle did for BW).

Shouldn't actually be an issue for people who are fine with this work around.

Obviously would prefer a proper cast, esp with DOA.

This tweet is about 15 hours old, I'm thinking maybe Kespa decided to let their partner MLG do the foreign broadcast for Proleague since they are a huge name in the foreign scene as opposed to OGN? With MLG viewership numbers would be much bigger since everyone already knows who MLG is, they could run the broadcast from their studio and have Axslav and Axeltoss cast it. *conspiracy hat*

If MLG does this, it better not be under a paywall like the MvP Invitational was.

If they do this. Dick move, Sundance...

If they do this TeamLiquid and EG managers will personally murder them I guess.... I cannot imagine them wanting to limit the sponsor exposure in they biggest project yet.

And holy shit, the week are to many annoucements to handle... EG-TL, EG.Jaedong, Proleague drama, HomestoryCup VI annoucements. To add to that, NASL4 finals this weekend and GSTL finals.....

IGN is not involved the IGN proleague and Proleague are 2 different things.

OGN broadcasts Proleague on their channel, for Kespa, but Proleague is owned by Kespa.

When MBCGame was still alive they also broadcasted Proleague, they would switch between venues for each match and both TV channels would broadcast it either live from their studio or over top of the other studio with their own casters.

If I understand this correctly, the only thing not happening here is English coverage of Proleague for OGN, OGN will still broadcast Proleague with their Korean casters.

I would be quite happy if Moletrap doesn't cast this, and we'll have english other casters.
OSL cast was really bad except the one with Grubby.

If KeSPA will let MLG do their English broadcast I won't really mind as a viewer. Axslav is a great caster and mlg has good production. I can't imagine it will be put behind a paywall, but obviously there will be a premium option for >360p (or >480p) quality.

However it seems like a bit of a dick move towards OGN from the outside. Maybe OGN were unreasonable or dickish behind the scenes, but from the outside it seems that KeSPA is the evil villain and honestly it doesn't need more of that sort of press.

So this was about the English stream on OGN. Got it. Well, sucks of course. But i would probably watch Korean stream anyway.

I hope MLG does this right, if they are doing it.

Most of all, I will miss the best produced event in esports.. OGN knows how the fuck it is done.

Sad news, i'd be pretty happy if MLG did cast if with there commentators as long as its still a free stream with paid vods/hd etc.

Interesting to see if EG-TL knew this was happening.

So Kespa decided theyd run their own stream simutaniously to OGNs aand "steal" their viewers? Just trying to understand this

That's the question, i read it as Proleague isn't being shown at OGN at all.

edit: I read again, he just spoke about the English coverage. So we don't know about the Korean.

OGN had a good pricing setup ($6/month), if there is no english broadcast with a similar or better pricing structure from MLG, I'm just not going to watch at all.

" Steal " the foreigner viewers, I assume, yes.

What they are probably thinking is that MLG would do a better job than OGN in providing English coverage, and it would be better for Kespa if MLG ran the English stream.

The production for the OSL was pretty bad, lots of issues.
