Once Blizzard announces an official release date they're usually pretty good at sticking to it, even if it really shouldn't be released then...

I really wish with games that are online only that they would send them a day or two earlier. I'm gunning for the HOTS: CE and would even like to buy it through TL so they can get their money; however, I want the midnight pick up. Why wouldn't they be able to release the physical copies of the game for online only games?

If you choose the fastest shipping (two-day, which is free for preorders), you will get it delivered to you on the day of release. The time of day depends on when UPS stops by your house.

Oh well, at least I now know when to expect it.

I might not get it at all considering most pros aren't even confirmed to switch. I am absolutely sure they will switch. Blizzard will pressure the tournaments. Balance on the other hand, is another matter.

There is literally 0 reason to stay on sc2 once this releases. There will be no regular sc2 torunaments, nothing. It will all be HOTS.

Well yeah, I'm mostly thinking about the pros that haven't produced results in a long time that are thinking about doing something else (school, other games, casting or whatever). It will just be a convenient point to move on for some I feel, not necessarily because the change itself will be too hard. I know some have held on to sc2 hoping that HotS will turn things around (in their eyes) and if Blizzard doesn't deliver they probably won't stick around. New players will always come though.

For Diablo III, they had a "release date delivery" that they gave to all people (regardless of membership), for 99 cents (they delivered the game ahead of time so it gets to you on release date or sometimes even before). Not sure if they'll do it the same with HotS. If it's possible, they should display it in the shipping speed. Generally though, anything other than release date delivery, they delivery it "after" the game is official released first (which means, if the game comes out on 12th, and you pick 5 day delivery, it may come on the 17th). Though, Amazon is generally good at giving you the release date delivery option (if it doesn't show up now, it might show up later). If they do offer it and you can't get it, you can contact amazon support (through the live chat) and try to ask them for it and see if they can change it.

It could also be a convenient time to climb to the top as the metagame resets—if I were a fringe pro player I would think this was a great opportunity to start over at a somewhat-level playing field
