Me meeting Haypro on the ladder was a landmark moment in my SC2 career. I started Uni last September, so in August 2011, I quit my job and decided to find out how good I could really be in this game(had no aspirations of progaming, just wanted to prove it to myself). I had been high masters all my career, but after grinding out a ton of games I was meeting GM players regularly, but no big progamer names. Until, near the end of August, I met Haypro on the ladder. I was incredibly nervous the entire game and lost in the roach vs roach wars due to missing injects, but that game, win or lose, was going to mark the end of my journey either way. After that game I thought: "Yes, if I spent all my time and energy on the game, I could beat the very best". I met a few other big names in the next few days, most notably perhaps Sase, but the Haypro game was the defining moment that gave me peace of mind and a sense of accomplishment. Getting owned by Haypro on the ladder was the best moment in my SC2 career. Thank you Haypro, you will be missed. | ||
