I'm in diamond and wanted to switch race, so I left literally 70 games or so. By the end I was playing against low bronze people and every single one of them was fully favoured... I played about 70 more games since then, winning like 95% and my MMR is now high plat or so. I'm still in diamond though... How can this be if the ladder is not locked? This was 3 days ago, I'm still generating bonus pool...

I can also confirm that bonus pool keeps rising. I can't say anything other than that as i'm im no risk of getting either promoted or demoted (1500masters). In fact, i think a bonus point just ticked in the last few minutes for me

Both on NA & EU server bonus pools stopped growing on Saturday 2012-08-25 according to the web profiles. On SC2 clients the bonus pools are still growing. When I wrote this message the max pool for master+ on NA server according to SC2 client was 997 (growing), but according to the web profiles 948 (this has not grown since 25th). For EU server the master+ pools are: 989 according to client (growing) & 936 according to web profiles (not growing since 25th).

The question is like Skeldark stated: Can you use the bonus points you have gained after 25th? E.g. If you had used all your bonus points at 25th, have you been awarded bonus points when winning according to the match result screen after 25th (and do the points shown in the match history match the score screen points if bonus points were awarded)? Or is it just a display bug that Blizzard often has when seasons are locked.

Before this season Blizzard always locked ladder during weekly maintenances (exception: end of May & beginning of June 2011 when they had ladder locked several weeks due to some GM promotion bug. It was a mid season lock that they only admitted after some weeks when the community noticed). Locking the ladder on a weekend seems little odd timing. One Bnet interface improvement that I would like to see is that it would show a big text "Ladder is locked" on top of the ladder lists when ladder is locked.

interesting since bonus pool has been increasing steadily since the 25th. guess they slipped up or are changing the way seasons work?

They've changed the date. Season 3 2012 will end on September 5 and Season 4 2012 will start on September 12

Yup it changed on NA to locking on the 4th and the new season beginning on the 11th. Completely contradictory to the blue post in the thread I linked. Nice!

Sweet. I noticed on Eu it magically changed from locking on 25th aug to sept 5th (season ending sept 13th) and was hunting for the official word. Looks like there is just enough time to get that double promotion after all. Thanks for the update <3

Wait the season ends the same day as my programming deadline. So much for getting 1st in everything. top 8 will have to do because I can play for the last month of the season, again. Annoying this is im free to play as much as i want once september starts. would gladly play another 800 games in september alone :/.
Seasons end at the most annoying times T.T, first for most of the season but rarely finish 1st.

locked on the 5th, over on the 12th september?
If that is true it is the first change blizzard made that I am happy with in a long time =D.

Man, I was hoping for a new season September 1st. 10 more days with no chance of promotion is not fun!

Guess I'll just try to hit rank 1 in my division though.

Can confirm what korona found out.
Webserver and Bnet was out of sync for some days.
Looks like different teams had different days for the lock and did not communicate with each other.

Well, if you go to quick match, you can actually see that it says "9/12/12" that the season is ending, at least it says that for me, I guess Blizzard postponed it

Its not only postponed.
The started the lock at parts of the system but not on others.
After they notice they postponed. Or they postponed and forgot to cancel it at all places.

NA is fixed. EU is still in the 50/50 mode.
