It's much easier to renew that relationship than to find another big time sponsor. I really wish for this to happen. I've been a massive SKT fan for as long as I can remember, but I've supported SlayerS too since day 1. Idk if that's a good idea though. Kespa teams value team results ten times as much as individual leagues results. If those two teams merge then at least half of their members won't even get consideration for team leagues and Slayers already has a big roster. As far as I know if you don't get sent out you probably don't make a lot of money so I guess it depends on how badly some of the players want to be paid or are willing to live in a teamhouse working diligently.
Realistically I think SC2 is over-saturated with players right now, especially with the influx of Kespa players. A year from now (the when the trade embargo gets lifted) I'm pretty sure that a lot of current players won't be playing anymore (from the Kespa side and from the esports federation).
My theory is if SKT and Slayers merge a year from now, the top players from Slayers will join SKT while the Slayers team becomes a B-team/feeder team.

I don't follow proleague that religiously, but so far we have; Cezanne, ex oGs player/coach to Team 8 Ryu Won, ex SlayerS coach to Woonjin Stars Clide, ex SlayerS player to KT Rolster as a coach (this one was the most suspect one imo, but SlayerS seemed happy for him) and now BoxeR to SKT1 I don't remember exactly when Ryu Won joined Woonjin, but they were the best team in the first round of proleague. When Cezanne joined Team 8 for the second round they went from the 7th place team to the best, and I don't know if you've seen Jaedong play lately, but he's improving at an incredible rate. I think it won't be long before the 3 teams that aren't Ace pick up a GSL player or coach to coach their team. ACE I don't know, they're not recruiting anymore but it would be amazing if they made an exception and got July or Nada to coach their team. Ryo Won left SlayerS before he joined Woongjin, so there wasn't exactly like they poached him from SlayerS. (He said this is in an interview). Players and coaches are different obviously.

All I'm seeing is Terrans being the best coaches :D

Does this mean he would not play competitively anymore?

Slayers would really have to be in dire financial needs to send their top players to SKT like that. They should be among the best funded GOM teams right now so things really have to change.
True about oversaturation though, a ton of active players today will no longer have a place in esports 14 months from now.

I will follow my Emperor wherever he goes
But Slayers just isnt slayers without BoxeR =(

So the Emperor retires the same day the Tyrant returns??? coincidence?
|
So Slayers will be led by Jessica only? Drama incoming.

Seems to be the right direction since all kids eat up drama these days.

well it means that he will not play pro again i guess... also i lost pretty much all interest in SlayerS with that news.

The emperor is home again

Was about to post the same thing, haha. Nice to see Him back on the team He helped create.

Time for the Emperor to create new ways to play the meta-game, even though Boxer may not be able to play the game like he did before, he is still the great tactician he will always be. He will always be Terran's Emperor.

bitter sweet news. I am still thinking with which feeling to go with :S

I still don't see the point you're trying to make? SlayerS are not in the Esports federation, neither are they in KeSPA, so no transfer rules apply to them anyways. Cezanne was brought in by Team 8 after oGs had disbanded which made him a free agent, and therefor not under the esports federation.

good for him but FUCK.
i wanted to see him as a player, not a coach.
only time i went out of the way (work with 3 hour sleep) to watch gomtv live was when boxer was playing.
ㅠ,.ㅠ
ps. slayers will function fine with or without boxer and honestly, it no longer matters to me because boxer is not in it... :X
I understand the excitement but I'd appreciate if people stopped putting the "f" in the acronym. Actually, Boxer himself is a Catholic Christian. Some people don't care but for others, like me, it's a very sad thing to see.
All the best to Boxer and Slayers. I hope he keeps connection with his new team after coming back to his old one where he shone originally.

Cool, but also kind of scary, dont want anything to happen to Slayers

i think boxer made a big enough impression with the games he's played in sc2. boxer will be boxer. boxer will coach and whoever is going to be coached by boxer is going to be awesome.

ah my apologies but only used as an expression with no ties to god or any religion what so ever. i'll try to use other available expressions in the future
but just poke...XD (spoilered for being off topic) + Show Spoiler +by god maybe i was referring to a deity with no relation to abrahimic religion, dont you think (the complaint?) also goes both ways since you assume the "g" was used to represent your god?
