This is so odd. Perhaps this is a temporary placement where Boxer can get practice in a formal KeSPA house then return to Slayers later? There is that player lock until 2013 and KeSPA/GSL competitions seems to be few and far between. This is like Nazgul going to EG or something.

You misunderstand Boxer's relationship with SKT and Slayers.
Boxer spent most of his professional life creating, playing for and coaching for SKT so his roots are far far deeper to T1 than Slayers.

It's a joke. Well...kind of.

T1 have the most annoying fans of all teams, mainly because of people who like Bisu a little too much, or talk more about their team looks than the games themselves.

Hey, hey. I'll fight totally fight you for that. Because Bisu is, like totally hawt.

But yeah T1 fans usually have to suffer (mostly) good-hearted ribbing from the other teams because some of our players are a little hit and miss (except when it isn't good-hearted.) Also Bisu created as many anti-fans as fans. I see your CJ symbol...


A mod-fight would be totally fun to watch, I'm not gonna lie.

Bit before my time, didn't even know about the BW scene when I played casually back in the day. Retrospectively viewing his games, how could anyone NOT be a Bisu fan?

But Slayers is the team he built for SC2 himself. His girlfriend helped organize and operate it into one of the more popular SC2 teams around. If the money was there that is understandable, but never the less it is odd he would leave his the SC2 team he built and ran from the start to go back to SKT who is farther behind developmentally in SC2 (as far as we know). Also, even as a coach he will still have to play a bit to stay relevant.

SKT is the team he built for Esports, not just SC1.
Besides I always got the feeling he started Slayers not for the sake of doing it but because he wanted to play in front of his fans again and at that time Kespa hadn't made the switch to SC2 public yet.

As of now, SKT and Slayers are still segregated so it's not like going to a competitor.

He didn't retire.

He stopped playing in favor of coaching. Nowhere is it stated he is a player-coach like in SlayerS. Even when he was in SKT it was never stated he was a coach.

He is leaving his job but he is taking a new one. He is not ceasing to work.

Apparently not, 4 KeSPA teams now have coaches from GSL teams, and it seems to be a huge advantage. I don't follow proleague that religiously, but so far we have;

Ryo Won left SlayerS before he joined Woongjin, so there wasn't exactly like they poached him from SlayerS. (He said this is in an interview).

Idk if that's a good idea though.
Kespa teams value team results ten times as much as individual leagues results.
If those two teams merge then at least half of their members won't even get consideration for team leagues and Slayers already has a big roster.

As far as I know if you don't get sent out you probably don't make a lot of money so I guess it depends on how badly some of the players want to be paid or are willing to live in a teamhouse working diligently.

i think he potentially needed the money
He was making like 300K a year during his BW days and then was still making bank to this day off of his name which got him and slayers sponorships. I doubt he needed the money, but im sure it is nice.

Figured this would be happening after his break cause of his injuries. The fact that boxer is the new SKT coach means nothing but loads of improvement for the team, but still sad to see the number 1 gaming icon that we all know and love stop playing professionally.
