There is that player lock until 2013 and KeSPA/GSL competitions seems to be few and far between. This is like Nazgul going to EG or something. Lol he's going there to coach the players. You misunderstand Boxer's relationship with SKT and Slayers. Boxer spent most of his professional life creating, playing for and coaching for SKT so his roots are far far deeper to T1 than Slayers.

This is like Nazgul going to EG or something. Not at all, Nazgul didn't create EG.

His girlfriend helped organize and operate it into one of the more popular SC2 teams around. If the money was there that is understandable, but never the less it is odd he would leave his the SC2 team he built and ran from the start to go back to SKT who is farther behind developmentally in SC2 (as far as we know). Also, even as a coach he will still have to play a bit to stay relevant.

Besides I always got the feeling he started Slayers not for the sake of doing it but because he wanted to play in front of his fans again and at that time Kespa hadn't made the switch to SC2 public yet. As of now, SKT and Slayers are still segregated so it's not like going to a competitor.

Even when he was in SKT it was never stated he was a coach. Retire: To leave one's job and cease to work, typically upon reaching a certain age. He is leaving his job but he is taking a new one. He is not ceasing to work.

I don't follow proleague that religiously, but so far we have; ![]() Ryu Won, ex SlayerS coach to Woonjin Stars ![]() and now ![]() I don't remember exactly when Ryu Won joined Woonjin, but they were the best team in the first round of proleague. When Cezanne joined Team 8 for the second round they went from the 7th place team to the best, and I don't know if you've seen Jaedong play lately, but he's improving at an incredible rate. I think it won't be long before the 3 teams that aren't Ace pick up a GSL player or coach to coach their team. ACE I don't know, they're not recruiting anymore but it would be amazing if they made an exception and got July or Nada to coach their team. Ryo Won left SlayerS before he joined Woongjin, so there wasn't exactly like they poached him from SlayerS. (He said this is in an interview).

I'm sure he realizes that a relationship with SK Telecom is the best way to ensure the long-term prospects of the Slayers team. It's much easier to renew that relationship than to find another big time sponsor. I really wish for this to happen. I've been a massive SKT fan for as long as I can remember, but I've supported SlayerS too since day 1.

Idk if that's a good idea though. Kespa teams value team results ten times as much as individual leagues results. If those two teams merge then at least half of their members won't even get consideration for team leagues and Slayers already has a big roster. As far as I know if you don't get sent out you probably don't make a lot of money so I guess it depends on how badly some of the players want to be paid or are willing to live in a teamhouse working diligently.
