But it was already stated many times that for MVP didn't go for the tournament. LG was running a promotional events at Gamescom and MVP had committed to that long before the schedule for WCS was out. As for MC, SK is a foreign team so they probably wanted exposure in foreign events as well. Plus MC did take the IEM World Championship last year for 35K.

Yeah the problem is that IEM was long planned, and then WCS suddenly is scheduled for the same days, i hope blizzard learned from this.

Totally agree on this. A final without mvp and mc is just not a real final... Sure if they failed to qualify but the choose to forfeit their spots Meaning the tournament failed since something else was more important. Thus its no real world cup.

To: MVP, MC From: Blizzard Entertainment RE: Dropping out of Korea WCS Dearest MVP and MC, We're so sorry to hear that you decided not to attend the WCS Korea which of course is sponsored by Blizzard. You know, the company that makes SC2. We're additionally sorry to hear you've chosen to attend Gamescon in Germany instead. We hold no ill will against you for this decision. The fact that all your accounts on Battle.net have been summarily cancelled was an unrelated event. Additionally, you may wish to ask Gamescon for a Heart of the Swarm beta invite since apparently you think their newb tournament is more important then ours. Best of luck, Blizzard Entertainment *END PARODY*
