What a terrible idea.... first of all, 3 tournaments in such a short amount of time is just overkill, starting at the ro8 just turns the GSL into any other random tournament, no hype for finals whatsoever. Just the GSL finals by itself is fine, I can't understand the idea to have the ro8 as well.... fdfdifjiodhiohgwie

Definitely with the general population on this. While I love being able to see so many amazing players play at once (which will still be awesome), the GSL element of preparing for a player really is taken out of the equation. Most of the mind games that I love from great GSL games will be taken out unfortunately.

Still, should be some great games with all the talent being there.

They should atleast make it 1 week and not 2-3 days...3 tournies is alot and I can't see how anyone can prepare for their matches on such short notice.

Will Stephano attend one of those tournaments ? Code S with no preparation would be perfect for him ( even too perfect, code S invitation + format change benefits ), and does he still have a chance to qualify for IPL 5 ?

Naniwa and Stephano are a given for the foreigner team, perhaps Nerchio, SaSe, Thorzain for the other 3 spots.
I am hoping that the production goes smoother than the event just gone, other than that I can't wait!

I agree, it’s a bad idea, as it defeats the all concept of the GSL format. What make this tournament so particular and so great, is having the best player prepare for a week to play their opponent. And when you have two top players doing so, it always creates great match, with generally innovative play, rather than a good all-around strategy that are going to be play over & over again.

In addition, like it has been said before, with other Code S player already participating in IPL this season, it would put them at the disadvantage. It is like MVP vs MMA all over again, where the first one had an all-day of competition, facing different opponent and race, before doing a best of 7 at the end of the day.

And yes, IPL TAC final production was way below the standard of what you are supposed to expect.

I don't like the idea at all. foreigner vs korea sounds good but thats about it. But it is just stupid to do GSL in 3 days and not let players have time to prepare its what makes GSL good. And also some of players might have to play both IPL 5 and GSL which will not show good results i believe.

What if someone takes both tournaments GSL and IPL5 that would be ridiculous :D

Having the ro8 and ro4 there as well basically stops it from being Code S, and turns it into MLG#2. I don't mind having the finals and the WC there, as long as the GOM production crew does all the production work.

This will completely burn out the GSL players, I really don't think that going for a more MLG mass-game style is a good idea.

At least try to split it over 2 weeks.

It's different, but really you guys are overreacting way to hard here. Ro8-Final on 3 Days mean, Day1 Ro8-Day2 Ro4-Day3 Final. Yeah the preparation aspect is gone for the Ro4 and the final. Well, some players may prepare for Ro4 in hand, since you have only 2 options to face this is very well possible (and imagine you have a mirror match to determine your opponent), so the preparation aspect is not totally gone.
It's a change in the format for ONE single season. No big deal. The quality of games will not suffer at all. The players in the Ro8 will be well prepared for their matches and the players that go through will have the skill to make the following games similar entertaining.
Really no big deal and nothing to complain about!
