It all seems very biased, everyone is trying so hard to protect Kespas interests. I guess it's necessary though, we do need Kespa to successfully integrate into SC2 to bring over the BW viewerbase.. I actually think this is ok for the first few tournaments. We have to remember that in Korea, the BW teams have the big sponsors. As we have seen in the WCS qualifiers, although BW pros are playing well, they would be hard press to make it through mixed brackets (only Reality made it thru and a few others got to finals). Then we would basically have GSL players in OSL, WCS and WCG while Kespa players only have PL. I don't think sponsors will be too happy about that. Of course, viewer base is important as well. It is sort of like foreign tournaments holding qualifiers for each region (the server lag plays a part but let's be honest, plenty of koreans can qualify playing on EU/NA servers). Also, this is just for the qualifiers and to make it to WCG, you need to make top 3 so I think it is fine. It is not like Kespa gets 1 of the seeds and non Kespa gets the other 2.

edit: nvm^ They are determining all 3 seeds for the wcg grand finals this weekend? That's really unfourtunate, I liked how they did it last year where it was drawn out and every match was broadcast.

It is unclear as to what they will do the 15 bo3 winners + MVP. Perhaps there is hope that it will be long and drawn out like last year. =D Hopefully there will be an english stream too. It's also weird that the 2nd group of kespa players are scheduled to be playing on aug 1. If that is true, this whole qualifier does not make sense to me. -_- It's disappointing to see so much potential in a tournament, but terrible clarification. Hopefully stuff gets sorted out soon enough.

Yes, last year, basically it is Code B qualifiers (but with ALL players except 8 seeds) + Code S (32 man 2 group stages, then 8 man single elim) all rolled into 1 and took like 3 months (aug 6th - Nov 13). This year, it will be slightly shorter since we will have single elim until Ro16 (not sure what happens after that) but we have Kespa players as well so the tournament is huge. The number of full time pro players in Korea is probably close to the rest of the world combined. And MC's comment sort of makes sense. Maybe he was originally slotted for day 3 which was going to conflict with ASUS ROG. All the players going to ASUS ROG are scheduled to play on Day 2 EXCEPT Hero. Not sure what is up with that. Maybe he plans to play on Aug 1st and then head straight to the airport to make it in time for ASUS ROG on the 2nd.
