Look, randomness like this is part of the fun. If we start tracking other UWCs, well, it'll be like wrestling with all kinds of belts floating around that have no true meaning or differentiation other than that they're attached to a different brand. Do you really want to be the redneck of esports?
Right now, this is it. If not for the UWC, I would barely remember Bear. Ok, overstatement, but still, I imagine quite a few people would've forgotten about him if not for this. What happened last year with there being so many championships? We kind of lost track of things like who was the real world champion. There was only the guy that won the last event, divided by the quality of the players that attended, times the exposure the tournament got, or something wishywashy.
Then again, your time is your own. Do as you please right.
It shouldn't be that hard to contact Bear, has anyone tried? I'm sure we can arrange it.

I wouldnt think a tournament held in the BETA would count - despite the size of the tournament
MLG would make more sense, but I guess it could go either way

Clearly Bear can't be the HOTS UWC. Life having won the first premier tournament should be it, or perhaps wait for the first HOTS GSL winner like Fruitdealer was for wings.

This thread is getting soo sad! How can u still be defending bear, someone that won a best of ONE?? I mean srsly, what would u have done, if it was the All-kill format and bear would have lost the next game straight afterwards?!?! Give the title to random Samsung Khan player?? WTF

We did do a poll and an overwhelming number voted we should stick with one UWC. The majority wanted to stick to Bear. You can't just ask for a new poll every time you disagree with the result ;p
And yes, if a random Khan player beat him straight after, they'd be the new UWC. That's how it works! It's not supposed to be an actual worldchampionship, you have ELO systems, like TLPD for that and individual tournaments. The UWC is whomever beats the last champion and some times that's ridiculous, that's what makes it fun.
Besides, Bear will either retire and we can restart with the next GSL champ or he will play again. I'm sure, worst comes to worst, we can rig a tournament to force him to play

That's completely missing the point though. For soccer, for a long time North Korea was the UWC. Surely you know better than to think they were actually the best soccer country. ;p They certainly weren't MY champions.

Bear will for sure participate in the next code A qualifiers. So I don't see a reason to dethrone him just because he plays not a lot matches.
