In the IPL finals did Leenock momentarily lose the title after falling 3-2 in the original Bo5 only to regain it in the following Bo3 or did the title never pass to Violet? That was ONE final with two sets, so Leenock shouldnt have lost the title since the "encounter" has had him down only after the first half. I think such a "double final" should make people more concerned with their words, because too often commentators are using the words "game" and "match" in alternating meanings. They should follow the "tennis nomenclature" of game, set and match. game = 1 game on 1 map set = several maps in a BoX match = several maps in a BoX, but maybe even over several sets So Leenock won the match, even though Violet won a set and thus Leenock didnt actually "lose" his title.

I understand what you mean with this, but I prefer the argument given by Xoronius. The tournament ran a double-elimination format and in the first Bo5 Violet eliminated Leenock, but Leenock got another series since that was his first elimination. And as Xoronius said, if Violet had won the Bo5 in the Winners' Final but then lost the Bo5 at the start of the Grand Final then nobody would argue that Violet was briefly the Unofficial World Champion. Also, in your system, it would have been 1 set each in the Grand Final (and 4-4 in maps) so it would not make sense to say Leenock had won the match at that point. I know it is just a bit of fun, but Violet had not held the title before (afaik) so I think he deserves his recognition for beating the champ in Bo5 ![]()

He beat Leenock in MLG Tournament of Champions I think they are only counting live events IIRC From OP Only tournaments played live/at a LAN and broadcasted on-location (i.e. no weekly cups, TSL, online qualifiers - only MLG, GSL, GSTL, etc). and the MLG part only counts the Arenas and the season championships
