After a furious battle, team FXO was able to claim their victory and secure a spot for Haeundae beach in Busan for the GSTL finals when they won against team MVP.

On July 20th at the GOMTV studio in MokDong, FXO was able to make a comeback and take the series 5:4 against team MVP during the semi finals of 2012 GSTL Season 2.

FXO was down 2:4 after game 6 and were on the verge of elimination, but Leenock, who was sent out as the ace, single handedly took down TAiLS, Lure, and DRG to grab 3 kills for FXO and allowed FXO to advance to their first ever GSTL finals.

Ever since the founding of the team this is FXO's first ever finals appearance. How do you feel?

This was not a victory by me but a result of team effort. It's not a victory for me but for our team so I think it means that much more.

You were sent out as the ace when FXO was down 2-4. Were you feeling any pressure?

All the hyungs on the team kept telling me that it was okay to lose. But because the mind control went so well I played with a calm and peaceful mindset.
(WTF IS WITH KOREANS AND MENTIONING MIND CONTROL IN INTERVIEWS?! BW nostalgia? )

Your first opponent, TAiLS, decided to play strategically because he was ahead.

That's why I planned to scout really quickly with my drone. But I saw with my overlord that he was going for a economic build so I decided to play a macro game.

How did you feel when MVP sent out Lure in game 8?

During televised matches, I lost a lot of ZvPs. I think MVP was aiming for that and kept sending Protoss players my way. But lately my ZvP has been my strongest match up. I was so worried they were going to send out Sniper but I was so relieved when I saw Lure.

You faced DongRaeGu in the last game.

I had anticipated facing DRG as MVP's ace but I did not anticipate that build order. He used a completely unexpected build order on me so I was flustered and got nervous. But I won because I kept my composure.

The game was decided after a final battle. At what point did you ensure your victory?

I knew I had won when I caught most of my opponent's infestors with just three of my own burrowed infestors. When I scouted using my overseer I saw that my opponent had no spore crawlers and no overseers of his own so I saw that as the perfect opportunity.

Did you think yesterday's loss effected DRG?

I think he was shaken up mentally by yesterday's game, and it followed him to today's game. Today I was really fortunate.

In the finals you will face either SlayerS or TSL. Which team would you prefer to meet?

This season we have been getting all our revenges from our past losses. Now TSL is the only team left and then our revenge is complete. I want to get our revenge on TSL as we win this season's GSTL.

If TSL makes it, you will have to face a ridiculous Zerg lineup. Are you prepared for that?

If we face TSL in the finals then our ace will be Tear. Tear is amazing at PvZ. I think we'll leave it up to Tear for the ace position and the rest of us will just play comfortably.

And if SlayerS makes it?

SlayerS has such a variety of players of all races that anyone could be the ace. We'll just have to play with the mentality of winning only the game that is ahead of us, instead of going for several kills at once.

The finals will be at Busan Haeundae. Have you been there before?

It will be a first time for me so it's probably going to feel like the way it felt when I attended foreign tournaments. Since we're going to Busan anyways I am hoping we will get to go to the beach and do some sight seeing before returning.

This week is the WCS qualifiers. How do you think the games against KeSPA players will go?

The top of the top KeSPA players are really good. But I still think we hold the upper lead. I think I'll be able to play comfortably. If I can just make it through the first two rounds I should be fine the rest of the way.

Any last words?

Thank you to all our friends and fans who rooted for us. I also want to thank my teammate hyungs for putting in so much effort. I hope we end this season on a good note. My dad tends to text me with strategic advice of his own as kind of a joke. It tends to confuse me a lot so I wish he would stop doing that (laughs). I want to thank our sponsors FXO, Razer, and GOMTV. I haven't seen my grandmother in a while so I plan on seeing her during Choosok. She has been telling me that she really misses me so I hope she'll be happy and healthy when I arrive to see her.

Wow.. kind of strange of teeling in interview their strategy if they face TSL.
Or it's just a ruse !

Thanks for the translation.

Just taking a guess here. But I think by 'mind control', they mean they are able to control their emotions and play with focus. "Nerves" is a big thing in televised matches.

Funny stuff XD I could see how that would confuse him. Congrats to Leenock and FXO though - amazing games by leenock, truly a thrill to watch.

I like how Leenock's teammates told him that it's okay to lose. It helps to take pressure off the ace like that IMO. I guess some players thrive more under high-pressure situations but it seems like most players will deliver better if they're relaxed.

T-T I wanted DRG to win a championship in his hometown, he was really excited about it. Getting knocked out of the semis in GSL and GSTL back to back like that must be crushing! Poor guy.

I'm not sure since I haven't followed bw a lot, but isn't it where FBH did one crazy ceremony, and then the final never happened on a beach anymore ?

It is also the place where that infamous 100,000 crowd photo was shot.

Regarding SlayerS, I think you're stuck many months back in time buddy. Since TaeJa and GanZi have left, as well as with BoxeR unable to play (not even mentioning the MMA debacle) SlayerS now has equal races in their notable lineup (with 5 each) or 9P 7T 7Z if you include the "unknowns". (both of which include BoxeR and MMA)

Kind of sad for DongRaeGu. On the other hand I used to be a big fan of Leenock but then he failed to deliver for 2 GSL seasons in a row so I kind of wrote him off for good, including this season's Code A. I don't mind him at all, I just wished he were more consistent.

If TSL makes it, you will have to face a ridiculous Zerg lineup. Are you prepared for that?

If we face TSL in the finals then our ace will be Tear. Tear is amazing at PvZ. I think we'll leave it up to Tear for the ace position and the rest of us will just play comfortably.

kinda funny question,i gonna rephrase

if TSL wins,u gonna face 99 zerg players
if slayers wins,u gonna face 99 terrans

Slayers really only has Ryung now. Ganzi and Tajea are gone, and MMA is in the B-team and more than likely not gonna play in the semifinals or finals if they get there.

Slayers' top five are: Puzzle, Coca, Ryung, Alicia, YuGiOh

True on TSL, Disagree at SlayerS

Both Puzzle and Alicia are probably their strongest players atm. ( MMA T_T ) CoCa will also most likely play.

Then JYP / Crank has a fair chance of getting sent out, MiyA has been making some appearences and Yugioh is still Code A / Code S lvl. Ryung is the only really solid terran left in SlayerS.

Will probably get to see MMA / Ryung. But yeah, that's not "99 terrans" : p

Not so sold on Alicia and YuGiOh. I'd say Miya and JYP

Besides defeating MarineKing he didn't do anything that deserves him to be in top5.

I would like to think getting to the finals of two premier tournaments in a short period of time would make you good enough to be top 5 on your team...

Yeah Tears is quite fun to watch in PvZ. I can't wait for Team Drone Life vs Tear.

SlayersEG will choose from:
Miya, Crank, Alicia, Puzzle, JYP, Ryung, Coca, YuGiOh. PuMa might get a chance too if they make it to the finals, but probably not that likely since most teams seem to have been scared away from sending out Terrans in GSTL.

TSL will probably throw four Zergs + either Polt or Inori depending on what maps are left to choose.

Just now realized that both Ryung and Alicia are at MLG. They lost 2 of their stronger players :o

Tear ace'd vs Startale when they were behind 2-4, taking out Curious Parting and Squirtle.
The guy is good. And if you saw how he lost today it was a very unique build by Tails.

He's an up-and-comer and someone you should have your eye on.
