Slayers is finally back in ro4 after 13 months.
Ryung> it’s only ro4 so it doesn’t feel any special. I think it will hit me only after getting to the finals. I don’t feel much yet.
You scored three kills as the starting player.
JYP> I thought I was the MVP with those three awesome kills. Then Ryung got it. I should be jealous but he finished the match off in such a great fashion that I couldn’t help but congratulate him.
They sent out a Terran in Set 2 after you took Set 1. How did that make you feel?
JYP> I’ve actually been under a lot of psychological duress lately. However, today I went in with a calm mindset. Then, due to sloppy play, I lost my natural. This brought back all the nervousness and pressure. The only reason I won was because I got a hold of myself afterwards.
You sent out a quick probe scout against Moon. Did you expect cheese?
JYP> I had a feeling he might. Before the match, the coaches told me to watch out for 6 pools on Entombed as well. I knew he had something ready and voila, the probe saw everything and I knew then that I had the game.
Your reason for going proxy 2 gate in Set 4?
JYP> I wanted to try it. Protosses just don’t scout lately. Oz is the same so I tried to go for an easy win. Then, he sends out a probe to scout. Again, I knew I had lost because of the scout.
This is your first time playing and you were the ace.
Ryung> I thought I would be sent out second last as well. Then Miya went out first. There was me and MMA left but I was confident so I volunteered.
Your banshee didn’t do much damage in the early game.
Ryung> I thought so too. Then, I got the feeling that my opponent had stuffed up his build because of the banshee. Even though I was supposed to be behind after the failed harass, I had no indication that I was. I could see that aLive was playing passively because his recent losses against me.
There was a bit of a crisis moment as your opponent launched his final attack.
Ryung> I agree but he wasn’t producing a lot of units in his own base. In contrast, aLive’s marines were slowly being whittled down so I knew I would win as long as I remained calm. If I had lost my cool, I would have lost.
Your ro4 opponent is your former team TSL
JYP> TSL’s line up consists mostly of Zergs. It’s my former team but I am confident in my PvZ and we will take this season no matter what. If I am sent out, I will go in with the aim of doing an all-kill. I want SlayerS-EG to be the first allied team to win the GSTL.
You take on TSL in ro4, how do you think it will go?
Ryung> I will be at MLG when this happens. I think this match depends more on our non-Terrans. We will have to practise to win. TSL Zergs are as strong as MVP. We will have to prepare absolutely thoroughly.
Anything to add?
Ryung> I was unexpectedly sent out as the ace tonight. I was originally planning to play as the third player and finish the match there. It was the ace game but I thought of it was an individual game and wasn’t too nervous.
I feel like I haven’t played well recently because of distractions. I will have to do some serious reflection tomorrow. Now is the hardest time for me as a progamer.
JYP> I have many friends on Fnatic. I’m happy about the win but also sorry to them. Also, my grandmother is unwell at the moment. I hope she gets well soon. My mother is also having a hard time because of this. Also, my sister is having her finals so I hope she does well. Lastly, I am studying for my high school certificate test myself and a friend is helping me out. I want to take this opportunity to thank that friend.
